Tintinnadiol,a sphaeroane diterpene from fruiting bodies of Mycena tintinnabulum

Abstract:Antifungal metabolites were isolated from fruiting bodies of Mycena tintinnabulum and from mycelia grown in either complex media or on oak wood. Strobilurins were produced in fruiting bodies and in mycelial cultures, whereas a new diterpene, named tintinnadiol, was isolated only from the fruiting bodies. The structure of the new compound was determined by spectroscopic methods. It exhibited cytotoxic effects.
