Abstract: | The species composition of the subgenus Exopalpiger Schulze, 1935 (genus Ixodes Latreille, 1795) and species ranges are considered. Altitude and biotopic preferences and host-parasite relations of species
are analyzed. A hypothesis explaining the palaeogenesis of the disjunctive distribution (Europe; South Africa; north and east
of South America; New Guinea, southern Australia, New Zealand, and Tasmania) of the subgenus Exopalpiger is proposed. |
