生命科学与我国的农业现代化

当前农业的成就显著，但也存在着污染并破坏生态环境、消耗大量矿产能源和资源，以及农产品内在质量常常不佳等问题。在分析国情及上述问题的基础上，提出了我国农业现代化必须要达到的目标为：（１）满足我国人民未来的食物需要；（２）提高农业生产的经济效益；（３）能供应可再生能源和资源，维护及改善生态环境，有利于我国的可持续发展。要达到这些目标，有待生命科学的研究作出重大贡献。农业中的种植业、养殖业和农副产品加工

Life science and the modernization of agriculture in our country

The achievement of present agriculture is remarkable, but there are several problems,such as the pollution and impairment of the environment, the use of large amount of mineral fuelsand other resources, and the production of farm products often with inferior intrinsic quality. Basedon analysis of the condition of the country in general and the above-said problems, it is suggestedthat the aims of the modernization of agriculture should be: 1) to satisfy the demand of food forthe Chinese people in the future; 2) to raise the economical benefit in agricultural production; 3)to supply renewable energy and other resources, and protect or improve the environment in orderto ensure sustainable developments of our country. To attain these aims require the life scienceto make major contribution. As crop cultivation, animal husbandry and farm product processingare related to plants, animals and microorganisms respectively, the modernization of agricultureneeds the advance of life science in every aspect and carrying out comprehensive research in vaxiousrelated disciplines in a view to enable agriculture in the future at the same time to meet humanneed and improve the management of biosphere towards a better and brighter future.
