Abstract: | The main features of the cold hardiness strategies adopted by Antarctic terrestrial arthropods (principally Acari and Collembola) are reviewed. These include lethal low temperatures, chill-coma temperature, supercooling ability, cryoprotectants and survival in anoxic conditions. |
