The first nauplius and 5 copepodite stages ofThalestris longimana Claus, 1863 are described. Sexual dimorphism makes its first appearance in the copepodid IV. Brief remarks are given on cultivation and on ecology of the species. The significance of both the naupliar and the copepodite development for the reconstruction of phylogenetic relationships of Thalestridae is discussed. |
