Abstract: | ![]() Summary The female-specific phages, I, II, W31 and H (but not T3 and T7) show a low efficiency of plating on all F-minus strains of Escherichia coli K12 except for the thr leu thi mutants descended from strain Y53. The locus responsible is linked to the histidine region and was presumably eliminated from the Y53 line of mutants in the course of mutagenesis. |
