Purification and properties of glycollate oxidase from Pisum sativum leaves

Abstract:A rapid and efficient method for the isolation of glycollate oxidase from pea leaves is described. The method utilizes the unusually high isoelectric point (pH 9·6) which has been determined for the enzyme using isoelectric focusing. The enzyme is apparently homogeneous by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and has a MW of ca 100000. Some properties of the enzyme are described.
