Abstract: | Four operational morphological units are defined to characterize 'typical' stems, leaves, roots and hairS. Any complex part can be classified among these OMUs by a graphical representation or by a quadruplet suitable for computer-aided analyses. Thirty-nine examples are given, suggesting a continuous view of plant morphology. |
