Abstract:	Uniformly ¹⁴C-labeIled glucose was fed to synchronously growingChlorella cells in the dark or in light. The rate of ¹⁴C-incorporationinto hemicellulose showed two maxima one in the growth phaseand one in the reproductive phase. Significant ¹⁴Cincorporationinto a "rigid wall" was found only in the reproductive phase. (Received April 14, 1983; Accepted June 15, 1983)
