Abstract: | The saline-soluble seed protein extracts of two varieties ofBrassica nigra, B. Oleracea, B. campestris, B. carinata, B.juncea, and B. napus were investigated. The ß-galactosidases,ß-glucosidases, and esterases were detected afterelectrophoresis of the protein extracts in strach gels. Serologicalmethods were also applied to some of these extracts. The methodswere used in order to investigate the possibility of amphidiploidywithin the genus. The analysis of the seed proteins of suggestedhybrids with references to those of their putative parents isreported in this paper and gives evidence to support the suggestionof hybridization. |
