Carbon-source assimilation pattern of the astaxanthin-producing yeast Phaffia rhodozyma

Abstract:Eleven Phaffia rhodozyma strains were assayed for their ability to utilize 99 compounds as single carbon source. Some of them showed modified coloration compared to colonies of the same strain grown on glucose medium.
