Abstract: | Morphofunctional state of the hypothalamo-hypophyseal neurosecretory system was studied in rats at late stages of pregnancy. No special differences both in function of the supraoptical and praventricular nuclei, and in the hypophysis of intact and pregnant rats at administration of progesterone were noted. When estrogenes were administered to pregnant animals, a sharp increase in functioning of the supraoptic and especially of the paraventricular nuclei was noted. The greatest activity of the supraoptic nucleus was observed at delivery that could be resulted from a stress reaction to pain. |
