Abstract:Summary Assuming that various kinds of balancing selection contribute only a small fraction of naturally occuring genetic variation, it is shown that if a fair fraction of evolutionary change in protein is due to neutral mutants, most of naturally occurring polymorphism must be due to random drift of neutral genes.
Keywords:Protein Polymorphism  Molecular Evolution  Geographically invariant Relationship  Heterozygosity
