| Abstract: | Based on the relative data over the years in Hengyang Prefecture, Hunan Province, causes for the occurrence of the yellow rice borer, Tryporyza incertulas (Walker) were analysed. Results showed that key factors caused the rise and outbreak of the population of this pest insect were : (1) the mixed planting of the early rice and late rice, (2) successive planting of the late ripening japonica rice in the large area, and (3) the fallow paddy field in winter change to the winter planting. |
