| Abstract: | Buthionine sulfoximine (BSO) specifically inhibits γ-glutamylcysteine synthetase and decreases a cellular level of glutathione (GSH) in maize seedling roots. Exogenous GSH restores Zn-phytochelatins synthesis in BSO-treated maize plants. |
