Abstract:In freshly excised garlic scnpe, ethylene production from bulblet of garlic scape and mid-lower part of garlic scape was strong (Fig. 1), and cellulane activity was also higher (Fig. 2). With senescence ethylene production of garlic scape gradually diminished (Fig. 3), but cellulase activity of bulblet of garlic scape increased (Table 1).The effect of GA_3 in delaying senescence of excised garlic scape wan related with the transport of cellular contents and ethylene. production.
