| Abstract: | This paper deals with the age and growth of Paracanthobrama guichenoti Bleeker from lake Taihu. 756 specimens were collected and examened during August 1979 to July 1980,and partially in 1982 and 1989.Scales used for age determination are drawn from the middle part between the starting point of the dosal fin and the left lateral line. The annuli are formed(or shown)chiefly from April to July.The catches are composed of 1-6 age groups, and the 1 - 3 age groups contribute about 90% of the total number.The cor... |
