Abstract: | Rhynchospora pseudomacrostachya (Cyperaceae) is restricted to the southern Brazil states of Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina. Previously, material ofR. pseudomacrostachya had been thought to belong toR. corniculata var.macrostachya (Torr. ex A. Gray) Britton (R. macrostachya Torr. ex A. Gray) of North America. However,R. pseudomacrostachya can be distinguished from the North American taxon on the basis of achene and inflorescence characters. |
