| Abstract: | Undirected mismatch repair initiated by the incorporation of the base analog 2-aminopurine kills DNA-methylation-deficient Escherichia coli dam cells by DNA double-strand breakage. Subsequently, the chromosomal DNA is totally degraded, resulting in DNA-free cells. |
