| Abstract: | Seven main stages in the evolution of Pliocene-Pleistocene artiodactyl communities from Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan within the interval from 5.3 through 0.4 Ma are characterized. The dominant groups are briefly revised. The major biotic events and the development of the main phyletic lineages are discussed. |
