Abstract: | The Abl tyrosine kinase plays an important role in axonogenesis. Recent reports indicate that this role involves interaction with several different protein families, including LAR phosphatases, catenin/cadherin cell adhesion complexes, Trio family GEFs, and Ena/VASP family actin regulatory proteins. These findings suggest that Abl and its associated proteins may regulate cell adhesion and actin polymerization, thereby regulating growth cone motility during axonogenesis. |
