| Abstract: | There are three partially random kinetic mechanisms which may be visualized for enzymes that catalyze reactions involving three substrates. The steady-state rate equation for these mechanisms can be reduced to the form derived by assuming equilibrium kinetics from consideration of inequality relationships among rate constants alone. The validity of these assumptions and of the resulting rate laws is considered. |
