Sex differences in the lipolytic activity of Galleria mellonella fat body

The sexual differences in the intensity of production and release of free fatty acids (FFA) as well as the differences in the absolute amount of FFA produced and released from the fat body are most conspicuous at the sixth day after the larval-pupal ecdysis. Furthermore, it is demonstrated that a significant difference exists in the lipolytic activity of the fat body between the two sexes.
