Cellular stress response: From homeostatic to allostatic perspective

For the vertebrates the more flexible allostasis frameworks tend to overlap the homeostatic model in the study of stress-induced physiological changes and whole-body adaptation. I hypothesise the possibility to extend this paradigm to stress-induced rearrangements of cellular networks.
