Abstract:
Plateau-phase V79 Chinese hamster cells induced to reenter the proliferative cell cycle from G1/G0 by dilution in fresh medium showed an early increase in ornithine decarboxylase (ODC) followed by increases in some polyamines and in DNA synthesis. In contrast, cells accumulated in G1/G0 by growth in extreme hypoxia for 60 h and induced to recycle by reoxygenation did not respond with early increases in either ODC or polyamines.
