| Abstract: | A strip of filter paper saturated with a pH 3.0 buffer solutionand placed on the upper side of a light-grown cucumber hypocotylseedling can eliminate the negative geotropic curvature of horizontallyplaced seedlings, by promoting elongation of the upper side.These filter paper strips also caused strong curvature of verticallyplaced seedlings and induced cell wall loosening of the epidermis.
