| Abstract: | The benthic and periphytic diatom flora is studied in 136 fresh waters in Papua New Guinea. DCA ordination and TWINSPAN are
used to describe 20 diatom assemblages. Conductivity, water temperature and altitude are the main sources for the variation
in the data.
