ACTINOMYCIN (Fig. 1) inhibits DNA dependent RNA synthesis and binds specifically to DNA and double stranded poly-deoxyribonucleotides. The three-dimensional structure of actinomycin is therefore relevant to the molecular mechanism of its biological activity and the stereochemistry of replication. |
