Abstract: | cAMP and cGMP contents were studied in various eye tissues of rabbits with experimental glaucoma induced by chronic intravenous adrenaline administration. Cyclic nucleotide level was measured in the retina, choroid, iris and ciliary body. An increase in the tissue cAMP level was found especially in the iris and ciliary body. An increase in tissue cAMP content is explained by an enhanced beta-adrenergic regulation in the eyes of rabbits with experimental glaucoma. No consistent changes were found in cGMP content in eye tissues. |
