The development of genetics as a tool for the study of photosynthesis is recounted, beginning in the period when no genetic exchange mechanism was known for any photosynthetic microorganism, and ending with the sequencing of the key genes for photosynthesis. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date. |
