Abstract:Spermatogenesis was studied with the aid of the light and electron microscopes in fourteen sexually mature camels slaughtered at different times of the year. The testes were fixed by vascular perfusion with glutaraldehyde. Spermatogenesis in the camel was generally similar to that of most mammalian species, although some features specific for the camel were observed. Spermatogenesis was found to be continuous throughout the year.
