Abstract: | Platinum(II) compounds containing purine analogs as ligands have gained increasing attention in pharmaceutical applications as, for example, antitumor drugs. This article reviews the molecular and antitumor properties of this class of compounds. The large amount of available spectroscopic and crystollographic data allows possible elucidation of geometrical parameters, such as bond lengths and angles, which may have an impact on the behavior of platinum(II) complexes against tumor cells. |
