| Abstract: | In apple seedlings the levels of NADP-dependent sorbitol-6-phosphatedehydrogenase activity and protein were high in cotyledons comparedwith other organs. Although the induction of the activity duringgermination was attributed to de novo synthesis of this enzyme,the accumulation of the protein did not coincide with that oftranscripts encoding the enzyme.
