Abstract:Eggs from congeneric gonochoristic and parthenogenetic whiptail lizards were incubated at various temperatures. There was no significant deviation from a sex ratio of one-half in the sexual species at any temperature, whereas no males were produced in the parthenogenetic species. Temperature-dependent sex determination appears to be completely absent in these lizards.
