Abstract: | Mixed function oxidase-catalyzed dearylation of parathion was determined in microsomal fractions of gonadal and liver tissues of fetal and adult horse. When parathion metabolism was calculated on a basis of milligram of protein, the activity was found to be similar between fetal and adult gonads but not liver. However, on a basis of nmoles of cytochrome P-450, parathion metabolism was similar between fetal and adult liver but not gonadal tissues; the metabolism being 20 times higher in the adult than the fetal gonad. |
