Abstract:
Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) seedlings were inoculated with Beauveria bassiana, Glomus mosseae and B. bassiana + G. mosseae, and the agronomic and physiological characteristics of the plants in seedling and maturity stages were evaluated. The results showed that in the seedling stage, the leaf length and leaf width of the tobacco were maximal, increasing 30.27% and 42.98% respectively as against experimental control after mixed inoculation treatment. The plant biomass of B. bassiana treatment group was the largest, and the G. mosseae treatment group gained the tallest plant height. At the maturity stage, the plant height, maximum leaf length, maximum leaf width, stem circumference, biomass and other indicators of tobacco in the mixed inoculation treatment group were superior to those in the separate inoculation treatment group. Meanwhile, the activities of catalase (CAT), superoxide dismutase (SOD), peroxidase (POD) and other antioxidant enzymes were the highest and the content of malondialdehyde (MDA) was the lowest in mixed inoculation treatment group. In conclusion, B. bassiana and G. mosseae can synergistically improve the growth and stress resistance ability of tobacco.
