In this paper the recent population changes of the Wild Boar in different European countries is analysed through the study of hunting statistics. A simultaneous increase in numbers is observed throughout the whole area during the period 1965–1975. From 1975 onwards the population stabilizes itself apart from in peripheral areas like Finland. Potentially favourable factors which play a part in this process are discussed and certain reproductive and dispersive characteristics which favour its invasive behaviour are discussed.  相似文献

Spontaneous aggregation of glycosylated, desialated, oxidized and malondialdehyde modified low density lipoprotein (LDL) as well as LDL of coronary heart disease patients has been discovered using methods for determination of light transmission fluctuations in suspensions and gel filtration. At the same time; LDL of healthy donors failed to aggregate under conditions of cellular culture. On the other hand, human aortic cells from unaffected intima incubated with modified LDL, but not native LDL of healthy donors, showed a rise in esterified cholesterol levels. There was a strong correlation between the degree of LDL aggregation and intracellular cholesterol ester accumulation (r-0.86, p 0.001, n-21). Removal of aggregates by passing preparations through and 0.1 um filter significantly inhibited the accumulation of cholesterol esters. The obtained data point to the essential, if not decisive, role of LDL aggregation in the processes of lipid accumulation by intimal cells in vitro.  相似文献

The sialic acid content of electronegative low density lipoprotein (LDL) and LDL isolated from human aortic intima was measured. Sialic acid level in electronegative LDL of healthy subjects was 1.7-fold lower than in native LDL. Sialic acid content in electronegative LDL of coronary atherosclerosis patients was 3-fold lower than in native LDL. Lipoproteins isolated from grossly normal human aortic intima and from fatty streaks contained 20-56% less sialic acid as compared to blood plasma LDL. A negative correlation was established between the ability of electronegative and aortic LDL to stimulate lipid accumulation in cells cultured from uninvolved human aortic intima and lipoprotein sialic acid content. The results obtained indicate that electronegative and aortic LDLs have a low sialic acid content, i.e., are desialylated lipoproteins. Considered together with the fact that all known atherogenic LDLs have similar characteristics, our findings suggest that modified LDLs are the same lipoprotein particles subjected to multiple modification.  相似文献

The changes in the contents of protein and free amino acids in pea plants inoculated with Rhizobium leguminosarum were studied taking into account the susceptibility of roots to root nodule bacteria. The content of cytoplasmic protein during infection increased in the actively growing root zone (0–5 mm) and decreased in the root zones susceptible to rhizobia (5–20 mm from the root tip). The quantitative composition of free amino acids changed essentially upon inoculation of pea seedlings with R. leguminosarum.  相似文献

The attempt was performed to isolate desialylated low density lipoproteins (LDL) from the blood of healthy subjects and patients with coronary heart disease by affinity chromatography with immobilized agglutinin of Ricinus communis, a lectin that interacts specifically with galactose residues. A part of LDL was bound to sorbent and could be replaced by galactose but not other saccharide constituents of the LDL molecule. Bound LDL subfraction had a 2-3-fold lower content of desialylated LDL in CAD patients was about 3-fold higher than in healthy subjects. Desialylated LDL induced a 2- to 4-fold increase of total cholesterol content in cultured human aortic intimal cells, whereas unbound LDL had no effect on intracellular cholesterol level. It is assumed that the subfraction of desialylated LDL may be responsible for the atherogenic properties of LDL in CAD patients.  相似文献

Chromosome numbers were counted for 23 species of Crotalaria native to Brazil. Among these data there were new counts for 15 taxa, and some confirmed previous reports or represented numbers that were different from those cited previously. The chromosome numbers most frequently found were 2 n  = 16 and 2 n  = 32. Only C. incana L. had 2 n  = 14 and C. tweediana Benth. had 2 n  = 54. The counts 2 n  = 32 and 54 were found in species of section Calycinae and 2 n  = 16 and 14 in species of section Chrysocalycinae . The data revealed the importance of chromosomal parameters in the characterization of sections Calycinae and Chrysocalycinae in Brazil. We discuss the systematic significance and evolutionary aspects for the genus, comparing the results with the two sections that are native in Brazil.  © 2006 The Linnean Society of London, Botanical Journal of the Linnean Society , 2006, 151 , 271–277.  相似文献
