Zwitterions, a class of materials that contain covalently bonded cations and anions, have been extensively studied in the past decades owing to their special features, such as excellent solubility in polar solvents, for solution processing and dipole formation for the transfer of carriers and ions. Recently, zwitterions have been developed as electrode modifiers for organic solar cells (OSCs), perovskite solar cells (PVSCs), and organic light‐emitting devices (OLEDs), as well as electrolyte additives for lithium ion batteries (LIBs). With the rapid advances of zwitterionic materials, high‐performance devices have been constructed with enhanced efficiencies by introducing them as interface layers and electrolyte additives. In this review, recent progress in OSCs, PVSCs, OLEDs, and LIBs by using zwitterions is highlighted. The authors also elaborate the role of various zwitterionic materials as interfacial layers and additives for highly efficient OSCs, PVSCs, OLEDs, and LIBs. This article presents an overview of device performance of zwitterionic materials. The structure–property relationship is also discussed. Finally, the prospects of zwitterion materials are also addressed. 相似文献

The Golgi-localized, γ-ear-containing, ARF binding proteins (GGAs) are a highly conserved family of monomeric clathrin adaptor proteins implicated in clathrin-mediated protein sorting between the trans-Golgi network and endosomes. GGA RNAi knockdowns in Drosophila have resulted in conflicting data concerning whether the Drosophila GGA (dGGA) is essential. The goal of this study was to define the null phenotype for the unique Drosophila GGA. We describe two independently derived dGGA mutations. Neither allele expresses detectable dGGA protein. Homozygous and hemizygous flies with each allele are viable and fertile. In contrast to a previous report using RNAi knockdown, GGA mutant flies show no evidence of age-dependent retinal degeneration or cathepsin missorting. Our results demonstrate that several of the previous RNAi knockdown phenotypes were the result of off-target effects. However, GGA null flies are hypersensitive to dietary chloroquine and to starvation, implicating GGA in lysosomal function and autophagy. 相似文献

Protein phosphorylation stimulates the rate of malate uptake across the peribacteroid membrane of soybean nodules 总被引:9,自引:0,他引:9
Incubation of intact isolated symbiosomes with [gamma-32P]ATP, followed by isolation of the peribacteroid membrane and polypeptide analysis, showed that a single major polypeptide at 26 kDa was labelled. Antibodies raised against nodulin 26 reacted with a similar sized polypeptide. Incubation of the symbiosomes with alkaline phosphatase removed the label from this polypeptide. Pre-incubation with ATP stimulated malate accumulation by isolated symbiosomes, but only slightly (10-30%). Pre-treatment of symbiosomes with alkaline phosphatase inhibited malate uptake substantially and this inhibition was completely relieved by addition of ATP. The ATP stimulation of malate uptake was not affected by ATPase inhibitors. It is suggested that the rate of malate uptake across the peribacteroid membrane is controlled by phosphorylation of nodulin 26. 相似文献

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is commonly known as one of the most prominent reasons for cancer-related death in China. Ras homolog enriched in brain (RHEB) and the mammalian target activity of rapamycin (mTOR) signaling pathway were found correlated with CRC, but their specific interaction in CRC was still to be investigated. Therefore, we explored whether RHEB gene silencing affected the cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis by directly targeting the mTOR signaling pathway in cells previously harvested from CRC patients. A microarray analysis was subsequently conducted to investigate the relationship between RHEB and mTOR. Eighty-three adjacent normal tissues and CRC tissues were selected. Immunohistochemistry was carried out to detect the positive expression rates of RHEB and Ki-67 in the CRC tissues. Cells were then transfected with different siRNAs to investigate the potential effects RHEB would have on CRC progression. The expressions of RHEB, 4EBP1, ribosomal protein S6 kinase (p70S6K), proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA), B cell lymphoma 2 (bcl-2), and bcl-2-associated X protein (bax) were determined and then the cell cycle, cell proliferation, and apoptotic rate were also measured. We identified RHEB and mTOR as upregulated genes in CRC. Cells treated with RHEB silencing showed a decreased extent of mTOR, p70S6K, 4EBP1 phosphorylation and expression of RHEB, Ki-67, mTOR, p70S6K, 4EBP1, bcl-2, and PCNA as well as decreased activity of cell proliferation and differentiation; although, the expression of bax was evidently higher. Collectively, our data propose the idea that RHEB gene silencing might repress cell proliferation and differentiation while accelerating apoptosis via inactivating the mTOR signaling pathway. 相似文献

Astrocytes play a key role in removing the synaptically released glutamate from the extracellular space and maintaining the glutamate below neurotoxic level in the brain. However, high concentration of glutamate leads to toxicity in astrocytes, and the underlying mechanisms are unclear. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether energy metabolism disorder, especially impairment of mitochondrial respiration, is involved in the glutamate‐induced gliotoxicity. Exposure to 10‐mM glutamate for 48 h stimulated glycolysis and respiration in astrocytes. However, the increased oxygen consumption was used for proton leak and non‐mitochondrial respiration, but not for oxidative phosphorylation and ATP generation. When the exposure time extended to 72 h, glycolysis was still activated for ATP generation, but the mitochondrial ATP‐linked respiration of astrocytes was reduced. The glutamate‐induced astrocyte damage can be mimicked by the non‐metabolized substrate d ‐aspartate but reversed by the non‐selective glutamate transporter inhibitor TBOA. In addition, the glutamate toxicity can be partially reversed by vitamin E. These findings demonstrate that changes of bioenergetic profile occur in cultured cortical astrocytes exposed to high concentration of glutamate and highlight the role of mitochondria respiration in glutamate‐induced gliotoxicity in cortical astrocytes.
