In this paper the synthetic methods of three covalently linked porphyrin-phthalocyanine heteropentamers, containing four units of porphyrin linked to a central phthalocyanine (Mpor-LPc; M = 2H, Fe, L = Zn, Fe), are described. The synthetic strategy is on the basis of nucleophilic substitution reactions between [1,8,15,22-tetra nitro phthalocyanines] and [5-(4-hydroxy phenyl)-10,15,20-triphenyl porphyrins] as the phenolic alcohols. Porphyrins are linked with oxygen as spacer through meso position of phenyl group to phthalocyanines. These macromolecules were characterized by 1H NMR, UV-Vis, IR, fluorescence and mass spectroscopy. The electronic absorption spectrums of the hetero-dyad systems changed significantly upon coupling and showed a great red shift in the phthalocyanine Q-bands. These changes confirm the electron-donating effects of the porphyrin units and the extension of conjugated п-systems. The emission spectra of the products supports intramolecular energy and charge transfer between the sub-units. 相似文献

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are multipotent cells with the potential to differentiate into different cell types. Owing to their immunosuppressive and anti-inflammatory properties, they are widely used in regenerative medicine, but they have a dual effect on cancer progression and exert both growth-stimulatory or -inhibitory effects on different cancer types. It has been proposed that these controversial effects of MSC in tumor microenvironment (TME) are mediated by their polarization to proinflammatory or anti-inflammatory phenotype. In addition, they can polarize the immune system cells that in turn influence tumor progression. One of the mechanisms involved in the TME communications is extracellular vesicles (EVs). MSCs, as one of cell populations in TME, produce a large amount of EVs that can influence tumor development. Similar to MSC, MSC-EVs can exert both anti- or protumorigenic effects. In the current study, we will investigate the current knowledge related to MSC role in cancer progression with a focus on the MSC-EV content in limiting tumor growth, angiogenesis, and metastasis. Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most prevalent cancer in the world. There are many risk factors involved in CRC. According to recent findings, the tumor microenvironment and feces samples of patients with CRC are enriched by Fusobacterium nucleatum. Thus, F. nucleatum is proposed as one of the risk factors in the initiation and progression of CRC. The most important mechanisms of Fusobacterium nucleatum involved in CRC carcinogenesis are immune modulation (such as increasing myeloid-derived suppressor cells and inhibitory receptors of natural killer cells), virulence factors (such as FadA and Fap2), microRNAs (such as miR-21), and bacteria metabolism. Tetrastichus giffardii Silvestri is a gregarious eulophid endoparasitoid of several tephritid fruit fly species. Host stage suitability was studied using nine age groups of Ceratitis capitata (Wiedemann) (Diptera: Tephritidae), namely, eggs less than 24 h and between 24 and 48 h old, and 1- to 7-day-old larvae. Life table studies for T. giffardii using C. capitata as host were done at 26 ± 5 °C and 55–60% RH. Egg load in relation to age of the female parasitoid was also assessed as was the effect of host deprivation on adult longevity. Host acceptance and suitability were examined with respect to eight species of tephritids. Potential hosts so tested were five Ceratitis species, the Medfly, C. capitata, the mango fruit fly, Ceratitis cosyra (Walker), the Natal fruit fly, Ceratitis rosa Karsch, Ceratitis fasciventris (Bezzi), and Ceratitis anonae Graham; two Bactrocera species, the melon fruit fly, Bactrocera cucurbitae (Coquillett) and the newly invasive Bactrocera invadens Drew, Tsuruta, and White; and one Dacus species, the lesser pumpkin fly, Dacus ciliatus Loew. No parasitoids were obtained from eggs while all larval stages were suitable though at varying degrees. Parasitism and number of progeny was related to host age in a curvilinear manner with maxima at 4- to 5-day-old larvae. By contrast, development time decreased with age of host larvae while sex ratio was not affected. The intrinsic rate of increase was 0.17 ± 0.01; gross and net reproductive rates were 64.9 ± 4.3 and 44.9 ± 3.8, respectively. Non-ovipositing females lived significantly longer than ovipositing ones. The females accepted all host species tested, but only C. capitata, D. ciliatus and, to a much lesser extent, C. cosyra were suitable. In the remaining host species, most eggs were encapsulated. In C. capitata and D. ciliatus, percent parasitism was similar, but number of progeny was lower and the sex ratio, as the proportion of females, was higher when the parasitoid was reared on D. ciliatus. Progeny per puparium were also similar for the two hosts. In the light of these results it can be concluded that T. giffardii has a narrow host range, but it attacks and successfully develops in larvae representing a wide range of ages. 相似文献

Several evidences have demonstrated that oxidative stress has a central role in bipolar disorder (BD). Recently, studies have been suggested histone deacetylases (HDAC) as a possible target for new medications in treatment of mood disorders. In this study, we investigated the effects of sodium butyrate (SB, a histone deacetilase inhibitor) on oxidative stress in rats submitted to an animal model of mania induced by d-amphetamine (d-AMPH). Wistar rats were first given d-AMPH or saline (Sal) for 14 days, and then, between days 8 and 14, rats were treated with SB or Sal. Locomotor activity and risk-taking behavior were assessed by open-field test and oxidative stress was measured in prefrontal cortex, amygdala, hippocampus and striatum. The results showed that SB reversed and prevented d-AMPH-induced behavioral effects. The d-AMPH administration induced oxidative damage in all brain structures analyzed. Depending on the cerebral area and technique, SB was able to reverse this impairment. The present study reinforces the need for more studies of HDAC inhibitors as possible target for new medications in treatment for BD. 相似文献

Antlions are insects which feed on ants, insect which dig a pit and lies in wait for ants and other insects. Twelve species of Myrmeleontidae family as antlions and many specimens were identified in different locations in Fars province in Iran. To unveil the genetic similarity between these species, their DNA was extracted by modified CTAB method and with the use of seventeen 10-nucleotides primers of random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD); the genetic analysis of them was investigated. After PCR, agarose 1.5?% was used for electrophoresis. The obtained electrophoresis bands had base pairs range between 150 and 1,000?bp. The maximum of polymorphic bands belonged to OPH5, N13, and the minimum of polymorphic bands belonged to OPA7 primers. Different genetic similarity indices were found between eight species of antlions. Possibility of use of RAPD marker together with morphological studies for classification and identification of antlions is discussed. 相似文献

ATG4B belongs to the autophagin family of cysteine proteases required for autophagy, an emerging target of cancer therapy. Developing pharmacological ATG4B inhibitors is a very active area of research. However, detailed studies on the role of ATG4B during anticancer therapy are lacking. By analyzing PC-3 and C4-2 prostate cancer cells overexpressing dominant negative ATG4BC74Ain vitro and in vivo, we show that the effects of ATG4BC74A are cell type, treatment, and context-dependent. ATG4BC74A expression can either amplify the effects of cytotoxic therapies or contribute to treatment resistance. Thus, the successful clinical application of ATG4B inhibitors will depend on finding predictive markers of response. 相似文献
