We have synthesized a β-cyclodextrin (βCD)-capped histone deacetylase (HDAC) inhibitor 3 containing an alkyl linker and a zinc-binding hydroxamic acid motif. Biological evaluation (HDAC inhibition studies) of 3 enabled us to establish the effect of replacing an aryl cap (in SAHA (vorinostat,)) 1 by a large saccharidic scaffold “cap”. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of norepinephrine and vasopressin on urinary kallikrein excretion in the rat. Two studies were undertaken: (a) acute experiments in which the rats were infused with 30% dextrose in water with the addition of norepinephrine or vasopressin, (b) chronic experiments in which the drugs were infused during seven days through an osmotic minipump. In acute experiments, urinary kallikrein excretion increased without modification in urinary flow and glomerular filtration rate. In chronic experiments, urinary kallikrein excretion was not modified in norepinephrine-treated rats and decreased in vasopressin-infused animals. This decrease followed the modifications of the urine flow. In chronic experiments the dextrose infusion increased urinary kallikrein excretion. In all the groups studied a positive correlation between urine flow and urinary kallikrein excretion was observed. It is concluded that norepinephrine and vasopressin are important stimulators of the urinary kallikrein excretion only in those circumstances where it is necessary to eliminate an excess of water. 相似文献

Pellets with beeswax:melatonin concentrations of 1:0, 5:1, and 2:1 were implanted near the suprachiasmatic nucleus of ovariectomized female rats. In repeated standard measures of the lordosis reflex after estrogen replacement, females with pellets containing either melatonin concentration were consistently less sexually receptive than were females with pure beeswax implants. Suppression of behavioral receptivity by melatonin is consistent with other antireproductive effects of the hormone. Available studies that have examined O2 sensing in fish have indicated that oxygen-sensitive neuroepithelial cells (NECs) are O2 sensors in the gills and initiate cardiorespiratory reflexes in aquatic vertebrates. This is the first study describing the occurrence of NECs in accessory respiratory organs in the air-breathing catfish Clarias gariepinus. Immunocytochemical stainings with specific neuronal markers such as nNOS, VAchT, 5-HT and TH have been shown to be very useful for location and distribution of these cells in the gill fans and suprabranchial chamber that take origin from the transformation of the gill tissue. But the response of these putative O2 chemoreceptors, their role in the respiratory reflexes and their innervation await investigation. 相似文献
