We examined differences in bird communities in relation to characteristics of habitat structure in a pine forest, Samcheok, South Korea. An unburned stand, a stand burned 7 years earlier and then naturally restored, and a stand where Japanese red pine Pinus densiflora seedlings were planted after the fire were used for the survey. Habitat structure was dramatically changed by postfire silvicultural practices. Number of stand trees, shrubs, seedlings, snags, and vegetation coverage were significantly different among study stands. We made 1,421 detections of 46 bird species during 23 separate line transect surveys per stand between February 2007 and December 2008. The mean number of observed bird species and individuals, bird species diversity index (H′), and Simpson’s diversity index (D s) were highest in the unburned stand and lowest in the pine seedling stand. There were more species and individuals of forest-dwelling birds in the unburned stand than both burned stands. Canopy and cavity nesters, foliage searchers, bark gleaners, and timber drillers were significantly higher in the unburned stand. In the pine seedling stand, densities of birds that prefer open field and shrub cover were higher. Stand structure was simplified in the pine seedling stand by postfire practices. Because of differences in habitat structure and bird communities, postfire practices in the burned stand should be re-evaluated. Also, management strategies for pine forest after forest fires are needed based on results of long-term experiments.  相似文献

We isolated and characterized eight polymorphic microsatellite DNA markers from the Korean field mouse, Apodemus peninsulae. The primers developed in this study yielded an average polymorphic information content of 0.78 (range 0.44–0.90), with an average of 10.9 alleles per locus (range 5–16). Observed and expected heterozygosities ranged from 0.46 to 1.00 and from 0.49 to 0.93, respectively. These polymorphic loci may provide useful tools for understanding the species’ genetic structure and ecology.  相似文献

1997 年至1999 年间, 在韩国智异山国家公园选取生境相似, 但片断化和未片断化不同的调查地。设置8 条2 km 长截线, 调查记录了黄鼬( Mustela sibirica) 、黄喉貂(青鼬) ( Martes lavigula) 、狗獾(Meles meles) 、豹猫( Felis bengalensis) 、野猪( Sus scrofa) 、獐( Hydropotes inermis) 、狍( Capreolus) 、朝鲜兔(Lepus coreanus) 和松鼠的数量, 并对影响动物数量的相关因子进行回归分析。结果表明, 8 块样地虽属两大类不同景观且具有相似植被特征, 但在片断化和未片断化中, 枯折木, 胸高直径(dbh)6~10 cm的树及50 cm的巨树密度, 树冠盖度及灌木被度均有明显差异。3 年内在8 块样地共记录到9种兽类在雪被上留下的足迹, 其中5 种兽的密度在片断化和未片断化生境中差异明显。9 种兽的渐近多元回归中, 6 种兽的密度同景观和植被变量密切相关, 但如果不增加当地生境条件, 则足迹链丰富度同植被构成的简单相关性表现得很微弱。在片断化和未片断化的不同景观林区, 对兽类的分布及其动态还要做进一步详细研究。  相似文献

SIMIAN virus 40 (SV40) is oncogenic for hamsters1 and Mastomys2. In vitro studies have shown that SV40 is capable of transforming cells derived from hamster3, mouse4, rabbit4, pig4, cow5, monkey6, human7, guinea-pig8 and rat9. We have established and studied continuous lines of uninfected and Rauscher leukaemia virus (RLV) infected rat embryo (RE) cells10. Rat embryo cells exposed to RLV have produced infectious virus and complement-fixing (CF) antigen characteristic of the murine leukaemia-sarcoma virus complex for more than 18 months. This communication describes increased transformation efficiency of SV40 in RLV infected RE cells (RLV-RE) compared with uninfected RE cells.  相似文献

Neurotrophin receptors utilize specific adaptor proteins to activate signaling pathways involved in various neuronal functions, such as neurite outgrowth and cytoskeletal remodeling. The Ankyrin-Repeat Rich Membrane Spanning (ARMS)/kinase D-interacting substrate-220 kDa (Kidins220) serves as a unique downstream adaptor protein of Trk receptor tyrosine kinases. To gain insight into the role of ARMS/Kidins220, a yeast two-hybrid screen of a rat dorsal root ganglion library was performed using the C-terminal region of ARMS/Kidins220 as bait. The screen identified a mammalian septin, Septin 5 (Sept5), as an interacting protein. Co-immunoprecipitation using lysates from transiently transfected HEK-293 cells revealed the specific interaction between ARMS/Kidins220 and Sept5. Endogenous ARMS/Kidins220 and Sept5 proteins were colocalized in primary hippocampal neurons and were also predominantly expressed at the plasma membrane and in the tips of growing neurites in nerve growth factor-treated PC12 cells. Mapping of Sept5 domains important for ARMS/Kidins220 binding revealed a highly conserved N-terminal region of Sept5. The direct interaction between ARMS/Kidins220 and Sept5 suggests a possible role of ARMS/Kidins220 as a functional link between neurotrophin receptors and septins to mediate neurotrophin-induced intracellular signaling events, such as neurite outgrowth and cytoskeletal remodeling.  相似文献

WE reported accelerated transformation by DNA viruses (SV40 and polyoma) in rat embryo (RE) cells chronically infected with a C-type RNA virus1,2. Recently we found in RE cells transformed by polyoma virus a new complement-fixing (CF) antigen detectable by rat antisera having broad reactivity with the various intraspecies and interspecies antigens of the RNA tumour viruses3–8; this antigen, however, was distinct from the murine intraspecies and interspecies group-specific (gs) antigens both immunologically and by virtue of other properties. We studied the seasonal changes in territorial behaviour of hazel grouse (Bonasa bonasia) from December 1999 to July 2001 in a temperate forest of South Korea. The study was based on the use of radio telemetry. Territory size and degree of overlap increased after the breeding period, and index of advertisement and border disputes decreased. In spring, the territory was defended by both males and females. During autumn and winter, this behaviour was relaxed to such a degree that hazel grouse cannot be considered territorial, but as forming a home range.  相似文献

A fed-batch process for the production of biosimilar monoclonal antibody was developed. Since the brand product is produced by perfusion process, the impact of process change from perfusion to fed-batch on product quality and cell performance was evaluated. Perfusion culture was performed at 0.47–1.00 (v/v/d) perfusion rate by spin-filter method with 15–17 μm mesh. Culture parameters such as pH (6.8–7.2), dissolved oxygen (40–70% air saturation), temperature (37 °C) and agitation speed (250 rpm) were applied in both culture modes. In terms of cell performance, volumetric productivity increased 3.7 times while process performance increased 7.5 times in fed-batch culture due to 10 times higher scalability. Considering the glycosylation pattern and charge variants, no significant changes in product quality were observed upon process change, although intact IgG level slightly decreased in fed-batch mode. The change of production media showed more effect on glycosylation patterns than the operation in different culture modes. Furthermore, there were no differences in biological activity, including TNFα, FcγRIIIa, and C1q-binding affinity. Through a scale-up study from 3 L to 12,500 L, it was confirmed that cell performance and product quality could be maintained. In conclusion, product quality of the fed-batch process was comparable to that of the reference product.  相似文献

Objectives

To evaluate the characteristics of a novel human cell line, F2N78, including growth performance, physicochemical properties, and biological activity via direct comparison with CHO cells.

Results

The culture performance and physicochemical properties of antibodies produced from F2N78 and CHO cells were compared. For charge variants, antibodies produced from F2N78 cells contained a greater acidic charge variants than CHO cells. Regarding main glycoforms, degree of galactosylation was 52% in CT-A produced from F2N78 cells compared to CHO cells (37%). For sialic acid forms, α-2,6-linked sialic acid and N-acetylneuraminic acid (NANA) residues were observed in antibodies produced from F2N78 cells. In contrast, only α-2,3 linked sialic acid forms were detected in antibodies produced from CHO cells, and NANA and N-glycolylneuraminic acid were detected. Hybrid structure and bisecting structure were only observed in F2N78 cells.

Conclusions

F2N78 cells stably produced antibodies with human specific N-glycan. The novel expression system based on human cells may facilitate the development of an alternative host cell for production of recombinant proteins.
