Panicle architecture and seed size are important agronomic traits that directly determine grain yield in rice (Oryza sativa L.). Although a number of key genes controlling panicle architecture and seed size have been cloned and characterized in recent years, their genetic and molecular mechanisms remain unclear. In this study, we identified a mutant that produced panicles with fascicled primary branching and reduced seeds in size. We isolated the underlying CLUSTERED PRIMARY BRANCH 1 (CPB1) gene, a new allele of DWARF11 (D11) encoding a cytochrome P450 protein involved in brassinosteroid (BR) biosynthesis pathway. Genetic transformation experiments confirmed that a His360Leu amino acid substitution residing in the highly conserved region of CPB1/D11 was responsible for the panicle architecture and seed size changes in the cpb1 mutants. Overexpression of CPB1/D11 under the background of cpb1 mutant not only rescued normal panicle architecture and plant height, but also had a larger leaf angle and seed size than the controls. Furthermore, the CPB1/D11 transgenic plants driven by panicle‐specific promoters can enlarge seed size and enhance grain yield without affecting other favourable agronomic traits. These results demonstrated that the specific mutation in CPB1/D11 influenced development of panicle architecture and seed size, and manipulation of CPB1/D11 expression using the panicle‐specific promoter could be used to increase seed size, leading to grain yield improvement in rice. 相似文献

1985年4~10月与1986年6~8月,在贵州省沿河县的纸坊村和崔家坨村先后发生了病因不明的传染病。纸坊村约有1/5的村民发病,病死率为12%,崔家坨村有1/10的村民发病,病死率高达30%。发病波及各年龄组,以青壮年为多,有家庭集聚现象。 本病起病急,轻症者只有头晕、乏力、肌痛、多汗、心悸伴以低热,有的初期有短暂的腹泻。重症者有高热(40℃以上)、大汗、心悸、游走性肌肉痉挛伴有明显疼痛和触痛,以腰骶部及四肢肌肉为好发部位。病人烦燥不安,2~5天内死亡。经实验室检查,排除了食物中毒、农药中毒、钩端螺旋体病和弓形体感染。从病人和接触者的粪便中分离到9株病毒,性状一致,为RNA型25nm的球形颗粒,耐酸,耐乙醚,能凝集人“O”型血球。经血清学鉴定为ECHO3型病毒。16份病人双份血清的检测结果表明,恢复期血清对该病毒中和抗体有4倍以上升高者共8例(纸坊村和崔家坨各4例)。病人单份血清也都有较高的抗体。有理由认为两年中先后在两个村庄发生的传染病与ECHO3型病毒有密切关系。查阅文献,尚未见有关ECHO3型病毒引起以肌痛、游走性肌痉挛为特征的疾病的报道。 相似文献

Background
Several single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the X-ray cross-complementing group 1 (XRCC1) gene have been shown to influence DNA repair and to modify cancer susceptibility. To investigate the role of these loci further, we examined the association of three XRCC1 polymorphisms with the risk of gliomas in a Han population in northeastern China.Methods
Using a PCR–RFLP method, XRCC1 Arg194Trp, Arg280His and Arg399Gln were genotyped in 624 glioma patients and 580 healthy controls.Results
Significant differences in the distribution of the Arg399Gln allele were detected between glioma patients and healthy controls by a logistic regression analysis (OR = 1.35, 95%CI 1.17–1.68, P = 0.001). Our data also revealed that the Arg399Gln variant (allele A) carriers had an increased glioma risk compared to the wild-type (allele G) homozygous carriers (OR = 1.40, 95%CI 1.12–1.76, P = 0.003).Conclusions
These results suggest that the XRCC1 Arg399Gln might influence the risk of developing glioma in a Han population in northeastern Chinese. 相似文献5.

Low‐temperature‐processed perovskite solar cells (PSCs), which can be fabricated on rigid or flexible substrates, are attracting increasing attention because they have a wide range of potential applications. In this study, the stability of reduced graphene oxide and the ability of a poly(triarylamine) underlayer to improve the quality of overlying perovskite films to construct hole‐transport bilayer by means of a low‐temperature method are taken advantage of. The bilayer is used in both flexible and rigid inverted planar PSCs with the following configuration: substrate/indium tin oxide/reduced graphene oxide/polytriarylamine/CH3NH3PbI3/PCBM/bathocuproine/Ag (PCBM = [6,6]‐phenyl‐C61‐butyric acid methyl ester). The flexible and rigid PSCs show power conversion efficiencies of 15.7 and 17.2%, respectively, for the aperture area of 1.02 cm2. Moreover, the PSC based the bilayer shows outstanding light‐soaking stability, retaining ≈90% of its original efficiency after continuous illumination for 500 h at 100 mW cm?2. 相似文献

The branched structure properties of hyperbranched polysaccharides (TM3a and TM3b), extracted from sclerotia of Pleurotus tuber-regium, were studied by using laser light scattering and viscometry. The configurational shrinking factor (g) and viscometric shrinking factor (g′) of TM3a and TM3b were discussed, where curdlan and pullulan were taken as the linear references for derivation of g and g′. The dependences of g factor, g′ factor, and Flory factor (Φbranched) on weight average molecular weight (Mw) were established to be g = 1.07 × 102, g′ = 3.63 × 101, and Φbranched = 7.08 × 1020 for TM3a in 0.25 M LiCl/DMSO at 25 °C, when curdlan acted as the linear reference. A power law relationship g′ = 2.71 × 10?1g?0.61±0.1 for TM3a was found, and the exponent was approximately same to 0.60 established by Kurata et al. for polystyrene star molecules. The dependence of g factor on Mw for TM3b was found to be g = 1.99 × 102, when pullulan was used as the linear reference. On the basis of Zimm–Stockmayer equation for tetrafunctional units, molecular weight of branching unit (M0) deduced from nonlinear curve fitting of g versus Mw was 8739 ± 564 g/mol and 3961 ± 1245 g/mol for TM3a and TM3b, respectively. The effect of different linear reference curves and polydispersity was discussed. This work gave valuable information on branched structure characterization and insights into the biosynthetic pathways of the hyperbranched polysaccharide from fungus. 相似文献

Batch experiments were designed to characterize a multiple metal resistant bacterium Burkholderia sp. D54 isolated from metal contaminated soils in the Dabaoshan Mine in South China, and a follow-up experiment was conducted
to investigate the effects of inoculating the isolate on plant growth and metal uptake by Sedum alfredii Hance grown on soils collected from a heavily contaminated paddy field in Daxing County, Guangxi Zhuang Automounous Region,
Southwest China. Our experiments showed that strain D54 produced indole acetic acid (IAA), siderophores, 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate
(ACC) deaminase, and solubilizing inorganic phosphate and solubilized insoluble metal bearing minerals. Bacterial inoculation
significantly enhanced S. alfredii biomass production, and increased both shoot and root Cd concentration, but induced little variation in root/shoot Pb concentration
and shoot Zn concentration. Despite this, the total shoot and root uptake of Cd, Pb and Zn in S. alfredii inoculated with D54 increased greatly compared to the non-inoculated controls. It was concluded that inoculation with strain
D54 could help S. alfredii grow better on metal contaminated soils, produce more biomass, and remove more metals from soil, which implies improved efficiency
of phytoextraction from metal contaminated soil. The knowledge gained from the present experiments constitutes an important
advancement in understanding of the interaction between plant growth-promoting bacteria and hyperaccumulators with regard

为探索获得能分泌较高价单克隆抗体杂交瘤细胞系的途径,比较了用不同免疫方法得到的小鼠脾细胞制备杂交瘤,对其产生有效瘤和高价抗体分泌瘤的影响。用不使小鼠致病的病毒(如NDV)或巳灭活的病毒作为抗原时,以较高浓度加佐剂、长间隔(30天)、多次免疫效果较好。用能使小鼠感染的病毒作为免疫原时,以活病毒的亚致死剂量感染小鼠,取其脾细胞制备杂交瘤,效果最理想。有效杂交瘤产率高,分泌高效价抗体的杂交瘤细胞系也多。探讨了从免疫方法着手,定向研制高价单克隆抗体杂交瘤细胞系的可行性。 相似文献

Although biological nitrogen removal via nitrite is recognized as one of the cost-effective and sustainable biological nitrogen
removal processes, nitrite accumulation has proven difficult to achieve in continuous processes treating low-strength nitrogenous
wastewater. Partial nitrification to nitrite was achieved and maintained in a lab-scale completely stirred tank reactor (CSTR)
treating real domestic wastewater. During the start-up period, sludge with ammonia-oxidizing bacteria (AOB) but no nitrite-oxidizing
bacteria (NOB) was obtained by batch operation with aeration time control. The nitrifying sludge with the dominance of AOB
was then directly switched into continuous operation. It was demonstrated that partial nitrification to nitrite in the continuous
system could be repeatedly and reliably achieved using this start-up strategy. The ratio of dissolved oxygen to ammonium loading
rate (DO/ALR) was critical to maintain high ammonium removal efficiency and nitrite accumulation ratio. Over 85% of nitrite
accumulation ratio and more than 95% of ammonium removal efficiency were achieved at DO/ALR ratios in an optimal range of
4.0–6.0 mg O2/g N d, even under the disturbances of ammonium loading rate. Microbial population shift was investigated, and fluorescence
in situ hybridization analysis indicated that AOB were the dominant nitrifying bacteria over NOB when stable partial nitrification

Presently, the wastewater treatment practices can be significantly improved through the introduction of new microbial treatment technologies. To meet increasingly stringent discharge standards, new applications and control strategies for the sustainable removal of ammonium from wastewater have to be implemented. Partial nitrification to nitrite was reported to be technically feasible and economically favorable, especially when wastewater with high ammonium concentrations or low C/N ratios is treated. For successful implementation of the technology, the critical point is how to maintain partial nitrification of ammonium to nitrite. Partial nitrification can be obtained by selectively inhibiting nitrite oxidizing bacteria through appropriate regulation of the system’s DO concentration, microbial SRT, pH, temperature, substrate concentration and load, operational and aeration pattern, and inhibitor. The review addressed the microbiology, its consequences for their application, the current status regarding application, and the future developments. 相似文献
