We investigated the effects of near-infrared irradiation on the photoconversion of Chenopodium album water-soluble chlorophyll-binding protein (CaWSCP) in the presence of sodium hydrosulfite and found a further photoconversion from CP742 to CP763, a novel form of CaWSCP. Interestingly, one-third of the absorption peak at 668 nm was recovered in CP763, but re-irradiation under oxidative conditions eliminated the photo convertibility of CaWSCP. 相似文献

A factor which may induce differentiation of intestinal epithelial cell lines in vitro was found in an acid extract of adult rat small intestine. The addition of a partially purified acetic acid extract of rat small intestine to IEC-18 cell culture dishes increased sucrase activity within 48 h. Thymidine incorporation markedly decreased within 24 h. Significant development of microvilli-like structures was observed on the acid extract-treated IEC-18 cells, compared with controls. This activity of rat acid extract was heat-stable and the apparent molecular weight of the factor was 400-800. These findings suggested that the factor may be related to the epithelial differentiation of rat small intestinal crypt cells. 相似文献

There are few inhalation studies of nickel carcinogenesis. In this study, Wistar male rats were exposed to green nickel oxide
(NiO(G)) aerosols (mass median aerodynamic diameter, 0.6 μm) for 7 h/d, 5 d/wk for up to 12 mo. The average exposure concentration
was controlled at 0.3 and 1.2 mg/m3 during the exposure. For histopathological examination and measurement of the nickel concentration in rat organs, the rats
were sacrificed at 3, 6, and 12 mo of exposure and 8 mo clearance period following 12 mo of exposure.
The nickel content in rat lungs that was observed up to 2.6 mg after 12 mo exposure, was proportional to the exposure concentration
during the exposure. The clearance of the nickel from the lungs was very slow and the biological half time was determined

Four types of surface-modified glass were prepared. Aminopropyl glass was prepared by alkylsilylation of glass slides with gamma-aminopropyltriethoxysilane. This glass carries primary amino groups which may be protonated at pH 7.2. Owing to the presence of both positively charged ions and hydrophobic ethoxyl groups, the glass is considered to be amphipathic. Three other types of surface-modified glass slides were prepared from aminopropyl glass by forming Schiff's bases with three aldehydes: glucose, glyoxylic acid and hexanal. The aldehyde-treated slides were subsequently reduced using sodium borohydride. Thus, the surface of the glass was rendered hydrophilic, ampholytic or hydrophobic, respectively. The adherence of two Streptococcus sanguis strains and two Streptococcus mutans strains to the surface-modified glass slides was studied. Different strains showed differences in adherence to these slides depending on their physico-chemical surface properties. For S. sanguis ATCC 10556, hydrophobic bonds seemed to be most important, while in S. mutans OMZ 176, ionic interactions made the highest contribution to adhesion. Hydrogen bonds seemed to contribute least to adherence. 相似文献

Effect of a thromboxane synthetase inhibitor (OKY-046) on bronchoconstriction induced by aerosol leukotriene C4 and histamine was studied in anesthetized, artificially ventilated guinea pigs in order to examine whether secondary release of thromboxane A2 is produced by aerosol leukotriene C4 or not. 0.01–1.0μg/ml of leukotriene C4 and 12.5–400μg/ml of histamine inhaled from ultrasonic nebulizer developed for small animals caused dose-dependent increase of pressure at airway opening (Pao) which is considered to be an index representing bronchial response. Pretreatment of the animals with intravenous OKY-046 (100mg/kg) significantly reduced the airway responses produced by inhalation of 0.1, 0.33 and 1.0μg/ml of leukotriene C4, while the pretreatment did not affect the histamine dose-response curve. Based on these findings and previous reports (6, 7), it is suggested that aerosol leukotriene C4 activates arachidonate cyclooxygenase pathway including thromboxane A2 synthesis and the released cyclooxygenase products have bronchodilating effect as a whole 相似文献

Promotive Effect of C18-Unsaturated Fatty Acids on the Abscission of Bean Petiole Explants 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The abscission-promoting effects of C18-unsaturated fatty acidswere studied in bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L. cv. Masterpiece)petiole explants with the junction between the petiole and thepulvinus in the primary leaves in the light. Linolenic, linoleicand oleic acids promoted the abscission of the explants in thelight. Linolenic acid was the most effective among the compoundstested and its promotive effect was evident without any accompanyingincrease in the production of ethylene from the explants, ascompared with non-treated explants. Linolenic acid is easilyconverted to its hydroperoxide during the incubation with explants,as indicated by the formation of the conjugated diene and thegeneration of ethane. The production of ethylene from the explantstreated with linolenic acid was completely inhibited by theaddition of aminoethoxyvi-nylglycine (AVG), but large amountsof ethane were still generated. The promotive effect of linolenicacid was almost eliminated by the addition of scavengers offree radicals. Hydrogen peroxide and tert-butyl hydroperoxidepromoted abscission in the light. From these results, we concludedthat the abscission-promoting effect of linolenic acid are notmediated by the effect of ethylene but by the effect of itshydroperoxide, while the well-established pathway for the biosynthesisof ethylene from S-adenosylmethionine to ethylene, via 1-aminocyclopropane-l-carboxylicacid (ACC), was apparently operative.
