A study was made of the effect of various radiation doses (1.75 to 12.25 Gy) on the enzyme activity of Na,K-ATPase system of the microsomal brain fraction of mongrel and Wistar rats. With a similar method of the fraction isolation different response of the activity of this enzyme was registered. Different radiosensitivity of M9-ATPase is responsible for the direction of changes in the Na,K-ATPase activity of the preparations. 相似文献
The distribution of nuclear DNAs of nine species of the genus Brassica in CsCl density gradients was investigated. The amount of satellite DNA with buoyant density of 1.704 g - cm-minus3 varies widely between the species. The satellite component is completely absent in B. oleracea; in B. nigra its amount reaches 37%, and in the other species it occupies an intermediate position. The absence of satellite DNA in B. oleracea was demonstrated by equilibrium centrifugation using a Cs2SO4 density gradient, containing Hg2+. 相似文献
The eastern part of the Black Sea and its tributaries are suitable habitats for several sturgeon species, among which Acipenser gueldenstaedtii, A. stellatus, A. nudiventris, A. persicus, A. sturio, and H. huso are well documented. However, different threats have led these species to a dramatic decline, all of them are currently listed as Critically Endangered, and some Locally Extinct, in that area. We tested 94 wild sturgeon samples from the Black Sea and Rioni River by analyzing the mitochondrial Control Region and nuclear markers for hybrid identification. The data analyses (1) assessed mitochondrial diversity among samples, (2) identified their species, as well as (3) indicated instances of hybridization. The data collected, besides confirming a sharp decrease of catches of Beluga and Stellate sturgeon in recent years, also revealed four juvenile hybrids between Russian and Stellate sturgeon, providing the first evidence of natural interspecific hybridization in the Rioni. The present communication raises concerns about the status of sturgeon species in this area and underlines the urgent need for conservation programs to restore self-sustaining populations.
The problem of taxa equivalency in phylogenetically distant groups can hardly be solved by comparing morphological differences alone. An attempt is made to approach the problem by means of DNA comparisons, e.g., DNA hybridization. Data obtained forCompositae, Umbelliferae andIridaceae indicate that both unique and repetitive DNA sequence comparisons lead to the conclusions that genera within these families are not equivalent, e.g., the differences in the DNA among the species ofIris are much more pronounced than among those ofAchillea; some genera ofUmbelliferae occupy an intermediate position. 相似文献
Highly repeated satellite DNA (stDNA) of citric plants was characterized by cloning and sequencing 10–14 repeats of each plant (Citrus limon, C. sinensis, C. ichangensis, Poncirus trifoliata). The monomers are mostly 181 bp in length with a GC-content between 60% and 68% (significantly higher than the average GC-content of the citrus group genomes). Similarity among the repeats indicates that they belong to a satellite family that underwent species-specific modifications, which are reflected in the phylogenetic relationships. Curvature provoked by dA-stretches of the repeats analyzed by gel shifts revealed structural conservation, even though the nucleotide sequences vary among species, thereby probably supporting the heterochromatic structure of stDNA. We show that the species-specific modification of the satellite consensus involves changes in the position and number of dA tracts. The molecule shapes of satellite oligomeres predicted by computer modelling indicate a superhelical structure of the tandem repeats which is in a good agreement with the satellite sequence dendrogram. The structural organization of satellite DNAs of mustard Brassica nigra and lemon Citrus limon has been studied by digestion with restriction nucleases. Analysis of DNA products produced by EcoRI and Bam I shows that two satellite DNAs contain long range periodicities belonging to several repeated sequences. The periodicities in two satellite DNAs differ characteristically, however, they have been found to contain common homologous sequences. Using the restriction nuclease Bsp I, a highly periodical fractions has been found in Citrus satellite DNA, composed of Bsp I fragments ranging from 80 to 1240 basepain. The major repeat units comprise five Bsp I fragments ranging from 80 to 200 bp. These fractions characterized by a high content of 5-methyl-cytosine. 相似文献
The primary structure of the cDNA clone SF28 was determined in sunflower (Helianthus annuusL.) flowers. The clone comprises a 874-bp insert corresponding to 227 amino acid residues of the C-terminal part of the cytochrome P450 gene. The natural focus of tularemia was found to cover the whole territory of the Kartlian plain. Epizooty occurred mainly among common voles with the involvement of insectivorous voles. Hard ticks, gamasids and fleas infected with Francisella tularensis were detected. Rodents highly sensitive to tularemia can be affected by this infection. Water rats were not involved into the enzootic process. Further studies are necessary for the final solution of this problem. 相似文献
