The present study was designed to assess the influence of geographical factors on essential oil (EO) composition, along with antiradical potential and phytochemical contents of Ferulago angulata (Schltdl .) Boiss (Apiaceae) extracts for the first time. The aerial parts were hydrodistilled by Clevenger apparatus and subjected to gas chromatography coupled with flame ionization detector (GC/FID) and mass spectroscopy (GC/MS). The EO yields were significantly different from populations ‘Mongar’ (south‐slope, 3000 m) with 1.34±0.06 % and ‘Male‐Amiri’ (north slope, 2600 m) with 0.18±0.05 % of total oil. Thirty‐nine compounds were identified from the EOs of nine populations. α‐Pinene was the predominant component ranging from 20.84 to 49.06 % in ‘Gandomkar’ (north‐slope, 2500 m) and ‘Mongar’ (3000 m), respectively. The methanolic extract of ‘Mongar’ (north‐slope at 2500 m) possessed the highest total phenolic contents. Also, this population logically exhibited potent antiradical activity using both 1,1‐diphenyl‐2‐picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC) assays with EC50 of 42.07±4.12 μg/mL and 8.34±0.21 mmol Trolox® equivalents/g, respectively. Due to its moderate free‐radical scavenging potential and high α‐pinene content, the population ‘Mongar’ might be considered as a perspective raw material in food and phytopharmaceutical industries.  相似文献

Distichlis spicata and Suaeda aegyptiaca are two potential halophytic plant species for bioremediation of salt degraded soils, and development of saline agriculture. The physiological responses of the species to different levels of salinity (EC 0, 12, 24, 36, and 48 dS/m) in a controlled environment experiment were studied. Both species showed a high level of tolerance to elevated concentrations of salt in the irrigation water. The shoot fresh and dry weights in S. aegyptiaca increased till 36 dS/m and were sustained under 48 dS/m while in D. spicata, both parameters decreased as salinity increased. Glycine betaine accumulation did not change in D. spicata with increasing salinity, whereas proline content revealed a marked increase of 7.13 fold in 48 dS/m salinity compared to the control, which showed its critical osmoprotection role in the plant. In S. aegyptiaca, both osmolytes content significantly increased at high salinity levels (36 and 48 dS/m) up to 3.22 and 2.0 folds, respectively. Overall, S. aegyptiaca had a better potential of Na+ phytoremediation, and tolerated higher salinity compared to D. spicata. In contrast, the vigorous root and rhizome growth in D. spicata made it a proper solution for protecting the soils against further erosion under saline conditions.  相似文献

Development of reliable assay methods for quantitation of interferons in dosage forms has encountered serious limitations because of the physicochemical nature of these proteins as well as the sensitivity/selectivity issues. A rapid, available, and easy-to-use reversed-phase HPLC method has been developed for quantitative analysis of interferon-alpha2b in pharmaceuticals. The reversed- phase method was based on a gradient system using a wide-pore C4 column and produced linear response in drug concentration range of 0.25-5 MIU (r = 0.9997). The average within-run and between-run variables of the method were 4.19 and 9.40%, respectively, with corresponding average accuracies of 99.48+/-4.11 and 102.83+/-9.51%. The limits of detection (LOD) and quantitation (LOQ) of the method were 0.125 and 0.25MIU/ml, respectively. The practical applicability of the method was proven throughout a post-marketing quality control program on interferon-alpha2b products (PD-feron) produced and marketed in Iran.  相似文献
