To repair multiple defects of the metacarpal bones in combination with skin defects, a combined scapular free flap on a single vascular pedicle--the subscapular artery and the accompanying veins--can be used successfully. This flap includes two distinct bone segments of the lateral border of the scapula and a scapular fascial flap. Because of its long and mobile vascular pedicle, such a transplant can be used for one-stage reconstruction of the first and other metacarpal bones of the long fingers of the hand. The scapular fascial flap included in the transplant provides good functional and aesthetic results in combined injury of the skin of the hand.  相似文献

A subset of human tumors ensures indefinite telomere length maintenance by activating a telomerase-independent mechanism known as Alternative Lengthening of Telomeres (ALT). Most tumor cells of ALT origin share a constellation of unique characteristics, which include large stores of extra-chromosomal telomeric material, chronic telomere dysfunction and a peculiar enrichment in chromosome ends with 5′ C-rich overhangs. Here we demonstrate that acute telomere de-protection and the subsequent DNA damage signal are not sufficient to facilitate formation of 5′ C-overhangs at the chromosome end. Rather chromosome ends bearing 5′ C-overhangs are a by-product of rapid cleavage events, processing of which occurs independently of the DNA damage response and is partly mediated through the XRCC3 endonuclease.  相似文献

Nine rare (biallelic) mutations and six short tandem repeats (STR) mapping to the nonrecombining portion of the Y chromosome were genotyped in 734 males from different geographical regions inhabited by the contemporary Armenian population. The analysis of molecular variance (AMOVA) showed that 48.9% of total STR genetic variation was explained by the differences between the haplogroups isolated based on biallelic polymorphism, whereas only 1.3% of genetic variation could be attributed to the differences between the geographic groups.  相似文献

Simultaneous recording of the EEG activity of superficial cortical and deep (caudate nucleus, dorsal hippocampus, anterior hypothalamus) brain parts has been performed for the first time after a 2-h swinging of frequency of 0.2 Hz in Wistar rats of juvenile age. Swinging was produced on a 4-bar parallel swing. Using a Neuron-Spectr electroencephalograph and a Diana program, normalized power spectra of wave EEG components, synchronization coefficients, and coefficients of cross-correlation between bioelectrical potentials of various brain structures were determined. After a 2-h swinging, the mean value of normalized power of slow waves of delta-diapason in hypothalamus and hippocampus was found to increase statistically significantly, while normalized power of fast waves of alpha- and beta1-diapasons in hippocampus decreased (p < 0.05). A statistically significant increase of synchronization coefficient was observed in hypothalamus and hippocampus. Changes of coefficients of cross-correlation between hypothalamus and hippocampus and other brain strictures were of the oppositely directed, individual character. In the parietal occipital brain cortex and in caudate nucleus, the changes of the EEG spectral composition also were of individual character. The obtained results on the whole correspond to data about an enhancement of the EEG low-frequency rhythms at swinging and agree with the resonance hypothesis of motion sickness.  相似文献

In this paper, some final results of 25-year investigations carried out in Scientific Centre for Radiation Medicine and Burns MH RA (SCRMB) on the Armenian cohort of the Chernobyl accident consequences liquidators are shown. These results show that health conditions of the liquidators became worse during the whole observation period. A considerable development of both pathological states atypical of radiation damages and diseases, which may be considered as radiation-induced ones, was determined. Rise of the sickness rate of almost all organism systems, first of all, nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory and digestive ones, was observed. In 70% of liquidators the main disease was primarily detected after working on CNPP. In the intervening years, the average number of diagnoses per 1 liquidator increased from 1.5 in 1987 to 7-8 in the recent time. In addition to the detected diseases, particular functional shifts in neuropsychological and vegetative status of the liquidators were observed. The overwhelming majority of them have increased tonicity of the sympathetic vegetative nervous system, asthenic and depressive syndromes occurring in the form of weakness, somnolence, mood instability, mental capacity decrease, and memory defects. In the paper, the results of investigations aimed at clarification of changes in biological aging processes of the liquidators and assessment of their "life quality" features in terms of physical, psychical and social welfare are considered. Biological aged-related passportization in a definite part of liquidators elucidated an accelerated aging rate. The studies were performed with the help of SF-36 inquirer and indicated that health status aggravation of the liquidators also affected their life satisfaction. The "life quality" indices of the liquidators significantly concede the overall average standards by both physical health and psychical and social welfare scales.  相似文献

Telomeric DNA can fold into four-stranded structures known as G-quadruplexes. Here we investigate the ability of G-quadruplex DNA to serve as a substrate for recombinant Tetrahymena and native Euplotes telomerase. Inter- and intramolecular G-quadruplexes were gel-purified and their stability examined using native gel electrophoresis, circular dichroism (CD) and thermal denaturation. While intermolecular G-quadruplexes were highly stable, they were excellent substrates for both ciliate telomerases in primer extension assays. In contrast, intramolecular G-quadruplexes formed in K+ exhibited biphasic unfolding and were not extended by ciliate telomerases. Na+-stabilised intramolecular G-quadruplexes were extended by telomerase owing to their rapid rate of dissociation. The Tetrahymena telomerase protein component bound to inter- but not intramolecular K+-stabilised G-quadruplexes. This study provides evidence that parallel intermolecular G-quadruplexes can serve as substrates for telomerase in vitro, their extension being mediated through direct interactions between this higher-order structure and telomerase.  相似文献
