Synthesis of human walking: A planar model for single support   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
A mathematical model for the single support phase of normal, level, human walking is formulated. The motion of the lower extremity is synthesized using a preprogrammed set of inputs, recognized by the model as a simple collection of applied joint moments.

Two mechanisms are forwarded as candidates for producing the observed peaks in the vertical ground reaction. The first, stance knee flexion-extension, generates the necessary level of whole-body vertical acceleration during the initial region of single support (opposite toe-off to heel-off). A model accounting for the determinants of foot and knee interaction then predicts the second peak to be the result of an increasing ankle moment in the region from heel-off to opposite heel-strike.  相似文献

This paper presents a dynamical analysis of quadrupedal locomotion, with specific reference to an adult Nubian goat. Measurements of ground reaction forces and limb motion are used to assess variations in intersegmental forces, joint moments, and instantaneous power for three discernible gaits: walking, running, and jumping. In each case, inertial effects of the torso are shown to dominate to the extent that lower-extremity contributions may be considered negligible. Footforces generated by the forelimbs exceed those exerted by the hindlimbs; and, in general, ground reactions increase with speed. The shoulder and hip dominate mechanical energy production during walking, while the knee plays a more significant role in running. In both cases, however, the elbow absorbs energy, and by so doing functions primarily as a damping (control) element. As opposed to either walking or running, jumping requires total horizontal retardation of the body's center of mass. In this instance, generating the necessary vertical thrust amounts to energy absorption at all joints of the lower extremities.  相似文献

Impact forces during landing in dismounts from the horizontal bar onto regulation gymnastic mats and in jumping from a height of 0.45 m onto a hard surface were measured. A two degree-of-freedom dynamic model was developed to predict the forces in landing on the hard surface. The periods of the two peaks that can be identified from experimental data were used in the determination of the system parameters. The peak forces recorded in gymnasts' landing ranged from 8.2 to 11.6 times the body weight. Maximum forces in jumping from 0.45 m, which ranged from 5.0 to 7.0 times the body weight, were accurately predicted by the model.  相似文献

Paraoxonase 1 (PON 1) is a high‐density lipoprotein (HDL)‐associated enzyme with antioxidant function protecting low‐density lipoprotein (LDL) from oxidation. PON 1 has two amino acid polymorphisms in coding region; L/M 55 and Q/R 192. These polymorphisms modulate paraoxonase activity of the enzyme. PON 1 activity decreases in coronary artery disease (CAD). In the present study, distribution of PON 1 L/M 55 and Q/R 192 polymorphisms and the effect of these polymorphisms on the activities of PON 1, and on the severity of CAD in 277 CAD (+) patient and 92 CAD (?) subjects were examined. PON 1 L/M 55 and Q/R 192 genotypes were determined by PCR, RFLP and agarose gel electrophoresis techniques. Genotype distributions and allele frequencies for PON 1 Q/R 192 polymorphism were not significantly different between controls and CAD (+) patient group (p > 0.05), but in genotype and allele distribution of PON 1 L/M55 polymorphism, there was significantly difference among groups (p < 0.05). Genotype distributions for both polymorphisms were not significantly different between subgroups of single‐vessel disease (SVD), double‐vessel disease (DVD) and triple‐vessel disease (TVD). Serum PON 1 activity was lower in CAD (+) group than in controls and this was also statistically significant (p < 0.001). In both groups, the highest PON activities were detected in LL and RR genotypes. In summary, our results suggest that there is an association between the PON 1 L/M 55 polymorphism of paraoxonase and CAD in Turkish patients but not with PON 1 Q/R 192 polymorphism. However, it is hard to correlate these polymorphisms and severity of CAD. Copyright © 2009 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In this two-part paper, a variety of three-dimensional, dynamical models are constructed for simulating the single support phases of normal and pathological human gait. A major objective of this work is to quantify the influence of individual gait determinants on the ground reaction forces generated during normal, level walking. To this end, Part 1 presents a three-dimensional, seven degree-of-freedom model incorporating five of the six fundamental determinants of gait. On the basis of crude muscle-force and/or joint-moment trajectories, body-segmental motions and ground reaction forces are synthesized open loop. Through a quantitative comparison with experimental gait data, the model's predictions are evaluated. Our simulation results suggest that pelvic list is not as dominant a dynamical determinant as either stance knee flexion-extension or foot and knee interaction. Transverse pelvic rotation, however, makes an important contribution by limiting the magnitude of the horizontal ground reaction prior to opposite heel-strike.  相似文献

Doxorubicin (DOX) is a broad-spectrum anthracycline antibiotic that has cardiotoxicity as a major side effect. One mechanism of this toxicity is believed to involve the reactive oxygen radical species (ROS); these agents likely account for the pathophysiology of DOX-induced cardiomyopathy. Aminoguanidine (AG) is an effective antioxidant and free radical scavenger which has long been known to protect against ROS formation. We investigated the effects of AG on DOX-induced changes in thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS) and reduced glutathione (GSH) content. The rats were divided into four groups:1) Control; 2) DOX group; injected intraperitoneally (i.p.) with DOX 20 mg/kg in a single dose 3) AG-treated group; injected i.p. in single dose of 20 mg/kg DOX plus 100 mg/kg AG 1 h before the DOX for 3 days, 4) AG group; injected i.p. with AG 100 mg/kg for 3 days. DOX administration to control rats increased TBARS and decreased GSH levels. AG administration before DOX injection caused significant decrease in TBARS and increase in GSH levels in the heart tissue when compared with DOX only. Morphological changes, including severe myocardial fibrosis and inflammatory cell infiltration were clearly observed in the DOX-treated heart. AG reversed the DOX-induced heart damage. Therefore AG could protect the heart tissue against free radical injury. The application of AG during cancer chemotherapy may attenuate tissue damage and improve the therapeutic index of DOX.  相似文献

This study was designed to investigate whether the short-term extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy (ESWL) exposure to kidney produces an oxidative stress and a change in some trace element levels in liver and diaphragm muscles of rats. Twelve male Wistar albino rats were divided randomly into two groups, each consisting of six rats. The animals in the first group did not receive any treatment and served as control group. The right-side kidneys of animals in group 2 were treated with two-thousand 18 kV shock waves while anesthetized with 50 mg kg(-1) ketamine. The localization of the right kidney was achieved after contrast medium injection through a tail vein under fluoroscopy control. The animals were killed 72 h after the ESWL treatment, and liver and diaphragm muscles were harvested for the determination of tissue oxidative stress and trace element levels. Although the malondialdehyde level increased, superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase enzyme activities decreased in the livers and diaphragm muscles of ESWL-treated rats. Although glutathione level increased in liver, it decreased in diaphragm muscles of ESWL-treated animals. Fe, Mg and Mn levels decreased, and Cu and Pb levels increased in the livers of ESWL-treated animals. Fe and Cu levels increased, and Mg, Pb, Mn and Zn levels decreased in the diaphragm muscles of ESWL-treated animals. It also causes a decrease or increase in many mineral levels in liver and diaphragm muscles, which is an undesirable condition for the normal physiological function of tissues.  相似文献

Our aim was to evaluate whether atrial electromechanical delay measured by tissue Doppler imaging (TDI), which is an early predictor of atrial fibrillation (AF) development, is prolonged in obese subjects. A total of 40 obese and 40 normal‐weight subjects with normal coronary angiograms were included in this study. P‐wave dispersion (PWD) was calculated on the 12‐lead electrocardiogram (ECG). Systolic and diastolic left ventricular (LV) functions, inter‐ and intra‐atrial electromechanical delay were measured by TDI and conventional echocardiography. Inter‐ and intra‐atrial electromechanical delay were significantly longer in the obese subjects compared with the controls (44.08 ± 10.06 vs. 19.35 ± 5.94 ms and 23.63 ± 6.41 vs. 5.13 ± 2.67 ms, P < 0.0001 for both, respectively). PWD was higher in obese subjects (53.40 ± 5.49 vs. 35.95 ± 5.93 ms, P < 0.0001). Left atrial (LA) diameter, LA volume index and LV diastolic parameters were significantly different between the groups. Interatrial electromechanical delay was correlated with PWD (r = 0.409, P = 0.009), high‐sensitivity C‐reactive protein (hsCRP) levels (r = 0.588, P < 0.0001). Interatrial electromechanical delay was positively correlated with LA diameter, LA volume index, and LV diastolic function parameters consisting of mitral early wave (E) deceleration time (DT) and isovolumetric relaxation time (IVRT; r = 0.323, P = 0.042; r = 0.387, P = 0.014; r = 0.339, P = 0.033; r = 0.325, P = 0.041; respectively) and, negatively correlated with mitral early (E) to late (A) wave ratio (E/A) (r = ?0.380, P = 0.016) and myocardial early‐to‐late diastolic wave ratio (Em/Am) (r = ?0.326, P = 0.040). This study showed that atrial electromechanical delay is prolonged in obese subjects. Prolonged atrial electromechanical delay is due to provoked low‐grade inflammation as well as LA enlargement and early LV diastolic dysfunction in obese subjects.  相似文献
