Ethoxyresorufin-O-deethylase (EROD) activity is considered an important biomarker for aquatic environmental contamination. Although EROD activity has been widely used as a biomarker of exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in fish, this activity can be influenced in the field by spatial-, seasonal- or individual-related factors. We therefore performed a comparative study of hepatic EROD activity levels in the croaker Plagioscion squamosissimus to determine whether variations existed in enzyme activity levels, especially in relationship to reproductive status, fish size, age, and seasonality. For this purpose, we collected fish from three reservoirs with different pollution levels during the early-rainy (November 2012), rainy (March 2013), and dry (July–August 2013) seasons from the Tietê River, Brazil. We tested whether size, age and sex affected EROD activity among the localities and seasons. We found a marked effect of pollution during the dry season on variation among the localities in EROD activity in P. squamosissimus. An analysis of covariance indicated that sex had a significant negative effect on the seasonal variability of the EROD activity levels at the most polluted locality (near São Paulo). A possible explanation for the statistical association between EROD activity and sex is that the reproductive status of the females influenced the EROD activity levels. Our results suggest that reproductive status can be a significant confounding factor for determining EROD activity in female P. squamosissimus in freshwater ecosystems when compared to males. 基于孔雀河下游断流河道的环境因子和植被样地数据,采用聚类与CCA排序法,分析了生境的退化特征以及物种间的相互关系,结果表明:1)断流河道退化生境分为绿洲-荒漠过渡类型、轻度荒漠化类型和盐土荒漠化类型。绿洲-荒漠过渡类型地下水位低、盐分含量相对较低,植被盖度相对较高,土壤维持着原砂质壤土,为潜在退化型;轻度荒漠化类型地下水位、土壤质地与含盐量与前者基本相同,土壤未明显退化,但植被盖度低于10%,植物种类与个体数目都较低,属于轻度退化型;盐土荒漠化类型地下水位高、盐分含量高,土壤机械组成中砂粒比重较大、无建群种幸存,属于重度退化型。2)绿洲-荒漠过渡类型总体联结性为显著正联结,正负联结比小于1,生态系统表现为建群种维系物种关系的不稳定状态;轻度荒漠化类型总体联结性为不显著负联结,正负联结比小于1,表现出生态系统进入退化演替的阶段;盐土荒漠化类型总体联结性为显著正联结,正负联结比大于1,表现出重度退化群落的种间平衡状态,物种间以达到稳定共存,其中,真盐生植物对这种平衡的维持起着重要的作用。3)CCA排序表明,绿洲-荒漠过渡类型形成以胡杨为中心的种间正联结,幸存于盐分适中、水分养分相对较高的生境;轻度荒漠化类型,形成以多枝柽柳与刚毛柽柳相互依存的不显著负联结,幸存于土壤养分、水分相对较低的生境;盐土荒漠化类型形成以盐爪爪、盐节木、盐穗木等真盐生植物维系的显著正联结,幸存于土壤贫瘠、地下水位浅、盐分含量高、沙化严重的生境。  相似文献

The shortfin eel Anguilla bicolor has elongate, yellow nostrils tipped with orange that protrude forward above the mouth. They are a striking, highly visible feature and it is hypothesised that they function as lures to attract prey, analogous to the illicium and esca of anglerfishes and frogfishes and the lingual appendage of the alligator snapping turtle. In this research, ecological risks for eight individual polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and ∑PAH8 in surface sediments from middle and lower reaches of Yellow River are evaluated using overlapping areas of probability density curves and margin of safety (MOS), based on the toxicity data and the exposure concentrations of PAHs in sediments collected from 23 sites. In the overlapping areas of probability density curves, the risk of Ant and Pyr are the highest, then the risk level is in the order of Flua > Nap > Phe > BaP > Flu > Ace. The values of MOS10 present that Pyr (4.62 × 10?4), Ant (5.60 × 10?3), and Flua (6.4 × 10?3) have a significantly high ecological risk level, while Nap and Phe have middle-level ecological risk. As for Ace, BaP, and Flu, they pose limited risk to the ecological system with MOS10 greater than 1.0. The ∑PAH8 (2.66 × 10?5) is a higher risk level than that of any individual PAHs, where the probabilities of ∑PAH8 in excess of the 10th percentile of the toxicity data were 86%.  相似文献

The completion in 1986/87 of an open storm-surge barrier in the inlet and of secondary dams in the landward parts of the Oosterschelde tidal basin (SW Netherlands) has had and will continue to have a significant impact on geomorphological developments. An analysis of historic data, and of recent detailed bathymetric and morphodynamic process data, indicates that former trends have reversed. At present the Oosterschelde is a sedimentation basin with a degrading intertidal area and silting up of channels. The continuing reduction in intertidal area, the decreasing geomorphological gradients, the increasing fine sediment content of channel deposits, combined with a general reduction in hydrodynamics, imply significant ecological effects.  相似文献

气候变化和人类活动是对陆地生态系统碳循环产生重要影响的两个因素,定量评估气候变化与人类活动对植被净初级生产力(NPP)的相对影响,对深入理解其驱动机制和控制荒漠化发展具有重要意义。以疏勒河流域为研究区,利用遥感和气象数据计算潜在NPP(PNPP)及其与实际NPP(ANPP)之间的差值,分别衡量了气候变化和人类活动对流域NPP的相对影响。研究结果表明:(1)2001—2015年疏勒河流域年ANPP整体呈缓慢增加趋势,与全国和西北地区相比,普遍较低,流域植被整体生产力水平不高。流域年ANPP空间分布呈现上游祁连山区和中下游绿洲区ANPP较高,而中下游荒漠戈壁区ANPP较低的分布格局。(2)2001—2015年流域年PNPP的变化趋势表明,降水量的变化是导致疏勒河流域植被退化加剧或缓解的主要气候驱动因素,但气温的变化对植被的影响较为复杂。(3)2001—2015年流域大部分地区植被退化系人类活动造成的,但人类活动的负向影响力在减弱。(4)气候变化和人类活动对植被NPP的相对影响均表现出明显的空间异质性,其中人类活动是疏勒河流域植被变化的主要驱动因素。  相似文献

为研究黄河三角洲不同人工林土壤细菌群落特征,应用高通量测序技术,比较分析了刺槐、榆树、白蜡、臭椿4种人工林土壤细菌结构及多样性,并结合土壤理化性质进行相关性分析。结果表明:人工林土壤中共有31门细菌;4种人工林土壤中酸杆菌门、变形菌门、放线菌门细菌以及刺槐、臭椿人工林土壤中硝化螺旋菌门细菌是土壤中的优势群落。不同人工林土壤中酸杆菌门、变形菌门、硝化螺旋菌门、芽单胞菌门、拟杆菌门、广古菌门、泉古菌门、蓝藻菌门细菌丰度差异显著。刺槐人工林土壤细菌多样性最高;白蜡人工林土壤细菌多样性最低。土壤pH、含水量、有机质含量与酸杆菌门细菌丰度呈显著负相关关系,土壤pH与变形菌门、硝化螺旋菌门、芽单胞菌门细菌丰度呈极显著正相关关系;土壤pH、有效磷含量与人工林细菌多样性呈显著正相关关系。以上研究结果表明,黄河三角洲不同人工林土壤细菌群落存在一定差异,土壤pH、含水量、有机质、有效磷含量是影响土壤细菌结构和多样性的主要土壤因素。  相似文献

From June to September, 2016, 100 catch basins in eight parking areas were monitored weekly for the presence of mosquito pupae in the operational area of the North Shore Mosquito Abatement District (NSMAD) located just north of Chicago, IL, U.S.A. Weekly results from these basins were compared to weekly samples taken from residential street catch basins, the most common type of catch basin treated seasonally by the NSMAD with larvicides. Over the 17 study weeks, residential street basins had a mean rate of productivity (pupae per basin‐visit) 12 times that of parking area catch basins. The two parking area sites with the highest mean rate of productivity were associated with county forest preserves. Productivity in both street and parking area basins was positively associated with the presence of three or more deciduous trees within 20 m of basins and if they were located directly adjacent to curbs. Alternatively, productivity was negatively associated with the proportion of impervious surface within 10 m of basins and weekly rainfall. Findings suggest that reduced catch basin larvicide applications may be appropriate in many parking area sites.  相似文献
