长白山北坡土壤动物群落物种共有度的海拔梯度变化   总被引:19,自引:2,他引:17  
群落间各生活型土壤动物科及所有土壤动物科的共有度,一定程度上反映了群落间的相关性及沿环境梯度的物种替代关系。应用梯度格局法在长白山北坡海拔550~2650m地段,每隔100m海拔高度设置一块样地,共计22块样地,并应用Jaccard指数,对各海拔不同土壤动物群落间物种共有度的海拔梯度变化进行了分析。结果表明,不同海拔土壤动物群落间物种的共有度,无论以哪一生活层的土壤动物科来表达,基本都以与其最相邻的群落间为最高,群落间物种共有度峰值与谷点反映了群落类型随海拔具有间断性变化。线虫、甲螨、弹尾等各生活型土壤动物的共有度以及所有土壤动物科的共有度,均随着海拔差的增加呈下降趋势,但并非与植被情况完全吻合。  相似文献

Flowers’ fungal and bacterial communities can exert great impacts on host plant wellness and reproductive success—both directly and indirectly through species interactions. However, information about community structure and co-occurrence patterns in floral microbiome remains scarce. Here, using culture-independent methods, we investigated fungal and bacterial communities associated with stamens and pistils of four plant species (Scaevola taccada, Ipomoea cairica, Ipomoea pes-caprae, and Mussaenda kwangtungensis) growing together under the same environment conditions in an island located in South China. Plant species identity significantly influenced community composition of floral fungi but not bacteria. Stamen and pistil microbiomes did not differ in community composition, but differed in co-occurrence network topological features. Compared with the stamen network, pistil counterpart had fewer links between bacteria and fungi and showed more modular but less concentrated and connected structure. In addition, degree distribution of microbial network in each host species and each microhabitat (stamen or pistil) followed a significant power-law pattern. These results enhance our understanding in the assembly principles and ecological interactions of floral microbial communities.  相似文献

Big Muskellunge Lake, a softwater lake (pH 7.5–8.0, alkalinity 0.36 meq/L) in northern Wisconsin, harbors a diverse (25 species) submersed macrophyte vegetation. The present submersed flora combines species generally thought distinct in their ecological affinities, and is very similar to that reported in 1935. The only differences are the apparent loss of three previously infrequent Potamogeton species, and the addition to the flora of two infrequent Potamogeton species and the now abundant Elodea canadensis. Dramatic differences in composition and pattern of the vegetation occurred between sites of contrasting exposure and sediment type. Substantial compositional variation, at scales ranging from tens of centimeters to tens of meters, occurred along transects of contiguous quadrats at uniform depth and exposure. Analyses of species sequences along line transects detected significant segregation of species that is most plausibly explained by biotic factors such as colonization, clonal growth, and competition. Heterogeneity at small scales of a few meters or less is common in Big Muskellunge Lake. Such pattern has been neglected in macrophyte ecology, in spite of its significance for neighbor relationships which may critically influence growth and reproduction of aquatic plants.  相似文献

A long-standing question in ecology is whether interspecific competition affects co-occurrence patterns of species. Null model tests of presence–absence data (NMTPAs) constitute an important approach to address the question, but different tests often give conflicting results when applied to the same data. Neyman–Pearson hypothesis testing theory provides a rigorous and well accepted framework for assessing the validity and optimality of statistical tests. Here, I treat NMTPAs within this framework, and measure the robustness and bias of 72 representative tests. My results indicate that, when restrictive assumptions are met, existing NMTPAs are adequate, but for general testing situations, the use of all existing NMTPAs is unjustified — the tests are nonrobust or biased. For many current applications of NMTPAs, restrictive assumptions appear unmet, so these results illustrate an area in which existing NMTPAs can be improved. In addition to highlighting useful improvements to existing NMTPAs, the results here provide a rigorous framework for developing improved methods.  相似文献

1. Niche traits (those that describe a species' niche) are not constant within a species, and the importance of intraspecific variation is increasingly appreciated. However, little is known about the extent of niche variability across species. This study investigated variation in dietary and temporal niches of ant species in two tropical rainforests. 2. Ants were collected from baits reflecting seven different natural resources and from pitfalls at 128 grid points. Sampling was done separately for day and night. Co-occurrence analyses were used to estimate the monopolisation capacity of each species. 3. It was expected that species would show similar dietary and temporal preferences across sites. Therefore, species with high or low niche variability between grid points (within a site) should show similar tendencies when comparing sites. It was predicted that between sites, intraspecific variability should be lower than interspecific variability, and that numerically dominant species should have higher monopolisation rates and lower intraspecific niche variability than less common ones. 4. These results showed that niche traits such as temporal activity and realised food niche shifted drastically between conspecifics of different sites. Even the most common species showed different food or temporal preferences between sites. In general, species with the highest monopolisation rates displayed lower niche variability. 5. This study also demonstrates that niche characterisation via combined continuous rather than categorical values permits a quantification of a species' niche variability. Categorising niche traits without considering context dependency may be misleading if one tries to assess niche width and a species' ability to cope with environmental change.  相似文献

Historical data from the 1930s were compared with new data gathered during the 2000s to evaluate the effects of increased numbers of larger stature submersed species (both elodeids and characeans) on resident isoetid communities. The cover and species richness of submersed species were assessed in 23 seepage lakes in northwestern Wisconsin, USA, using randomly located 1 m × 1 m plots. Water clarity, conductivity and residential land use were determined on a whole-lake basis and the sediment type and water depth were recorded at each plot. The probability of elodeids or characeans occurring in isoetid plots increased with the number of elodeids and characeans gained by a lake since the 1930s, with additions ranging from two to 15 species per lake. However, not all species were equally likely to co-occur with isoetids. Six elodeid species (Najas flexilis, Najas gracillima, Potamogeton gramineus, Potamogeton pusillus, Potamogeton spirillus and Vallisneria americana) along with Chara spp. were the most frequent isoetid associates, while other species that were common in the lakes, such as Elodea canadensis and Potamogeton robbinsii, were less frequent in isoetid plots. The lake-wide proportion of isoetid plots colonized by elodeids or characeans ranged from 5% to 100%, with increasing conductivity and total elodeids (plus Chara spp. and Nitella spp.) the strongest predictors of this colonization. Approximately half (49.6%) of all isoetid plots sampled had elodeids or characeans present (39.2% elodeids, 7.4% elodeids and characeans, 3.0% characeans), and isoetid cover and species richness were lower when these larger stature species were present. The risks this colonization poses for the long-term viability of isoetid species appeared to depend on multiple factors, including whole-lake characteristics, opportunities for refuge, and connections among regional isoetid populations. There was evidence of a time lag between the introduction of elodeid or characean species to a lake and invasion of isoetid plots within the lake, a process that deserves further study.  相似文献

In this study, carried out in four water bodies in the Upper Paraná River floodplain, we assessed the occurrence of root colonization by arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) and dark septate fungi (DSF), as well as the AMF species richness associated with 24 species of aquatic macrophytes belonging to different life forms. AMF were found in nine species of macrophytes and DSF in 16 species among the 24 investigated. AM colonization occurred mainly in eudicotiledons (five of the six species evaluated) and the Paris morphology was the most common type. Co-occurrence of AMF and DSF was observed in seven species of macrophytes (Commelinaceae sp. 1, Limnobium laevigatum (H.B.K. ex Willd) Heine, Hygrophila cf. costata, Myriophyllum brasiliense (Camb), Polygonum acuminatum Kunth, P. ferrugineum Wedd and P. stelligerum Cham). Four species of macrophytes (Pistia stratiotes L., Eichhornia crassipes (Mart.) Solms, Egeria najas Planch and Nymphaea amazonum Mart. & Zucc) were not colonized by any type of fungi. In total, 27 morphotypes of AMF were recorded, and spores occurred both in the rhizosphere of macrophytes whose roots were internally colonized by AMF and in non-colonized macrophytes. Acaulospora delicata, Acaulospora aff. laevis, Acaulospora longula, Glomus lamellosum, Glomus luteum and NID 1 (a non-identified species) were the most frequent species. Samples collected close to the roots of N. amazonum had the highest AMF richness (20 species), but this plant was not colonized by fungi. A species richness curve indicated that more root-associated fungi than reported here are likely present in this floodplain.  相似文献

ObjectivesBreast cancer (BC) is one of the most commonly reported health issues worldwide, especially in females. Early detection and diagnosis of BC can greatly reduce mortality rates. Samples obtained with different imaging methods such as mammography, computerized tomography, magnetic resonance, ultrasound, and biopsy are used in the diagnosis of BC. Histopathological images obtained from a biopsy contain vital information about the stage of the BC. Computer-aided systems are important tools to assist pathologists in the early detection of BC.Material and methodsIn the current study, the use of gray-level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) of Shearlet Transform (ST) coefficients were first scrutinized as textural features. ST is an advanced decomposition-based method that can analyze images in various directions and is sensitive to edge singularities. These features make ST more robust than other decomposition methods such as Fourier and wavelet. Color channel histogram features were also utilized for a second level of evaluation in the diagnosis of the BC stage. These features are considered one of the most important building blocks that pathologists consider in the course of grading histopathological images. Then, by combining these two features, the classification results were re-assessed utilizing Support Vector Machine (SVM) as a classifier.ResultsThe assessments were performed on a BreaKHis dataset containing benign and malignant histopathological samples. The average accuracy scores were reported as being 98.2%, 97.2%, 97.8%, and 97.3% in the sub-databases with 40×, 100×, 200×, and 400× magnification factors, respectively.ConclusionsThe obtained results showed that the proposed method was quite efficient in histopathological image classification. Despite the relative simplicity of the approach, the obtained results were far superior to previously reported results.  相似文献

The brine shrimp Artemia is one of the most studied animals in the world. A large part of the knowledge of this crustacean is based on cysts harvested from two main sources; the Great Salt Lake, UT (GSL), and the San Francisco Bay salterns, CA (SFB), USA. Artemia populations from these habitats are recognized to belong to a single zygogenetic species, Artemia franciscana Kellogg, 1906. However, the GSL Artemia has been in doubt for more than a century about the existence of parthenogenetic reproduction. By using morphological, reproductive, and molecular analyses, we report that commercial GSL cyst lots contained two different brine shrimp species; a parthenogenetic (60%) and a zygogenetic (A. franciscana) (40%). From this finding, at least three hypotheses can be drawn. The parthenogenetic Artemia is native of GSL, or it was introduced to GSL, or foreign parthenogenetic cysts were mixed with A. franciscana cysts and canned for commercial distribution. Researchers using brine shrimp cysts from GSL should therefore pay careful attention to the correct identity of the species under study. The potential of an easy and unnoticed introduction of parthenogenetic Artemia into America is discussed.  相似文献
