在野外调查和采集标本的基础上,对北京东灵山苔藓植物区系成分及特点进行研究。结果显示,该地区共有苔藓植物27科64属150种(含2变种),其中32种为北京苔藓植物新记录。优势科为青藓科(Brachytheciaceae)、丛藓科(Pottiaceae)、灰藓科(Hypnaceae)、真藓科(Bryaceae)和绢藓科(Entodontaceae)5科;优势属为青藓属(Brachythecium)、绢藓属(Entodon)、紫萼藓属(Grimmia)、真藓属(Bryum)、金灰藓属(Pylaisia)、凤尾藓属(Fissidens)、美喙藓属(Eurhynchium)和毛口藓属(Trichostomum)8属。区系分析表明,东灵山苔藓植物区系地理成分以北温带成分为主(占36.7%)、东亚成分次之(占18.0%)。通过与我国15个地区苔藓植物区系谱主成分分析发现,东灵山苔藓植物区系成分与雾灵山、小五台山与贺兰山相近,与云蒙山最为接近。  相似文献

This research provides the first evidence of dispersal of bryophytes and associated microorganisms through ingestion by a highly mobile vertebrate vector, the spectacled flying fox (Pteropus conspicillatus). Bryophyte fragments were found in faeces collected at four P. conspicillatus’ camps in the Wet Tropics bioregion, northeastern Australia. These fragments were viable when grown in culture; live invertebrates and other organisms were also present. Our study has significantly increased understanding of the role of flying foxes as dispersal vectors in tropical forests.  相似文献

Spiral secondary walls are found in hyaline cells of Sphagnum, in the elaters of most liverworts, and in elaters of the hornwort Megaceros. Recent studies on these cells suggest that cytoskeletal and ultrastructural processes involved in cell differentiation and secondary wall formation are similar in bryophytes and vascular plant tracheary elements. To examine differences in wall structure, primary and secondary wall constituents of the hyaline cells of Sphagnum novo-zelandicum and elaters of the liverwort Radula buccinifera and the hornwort Megaceros gracilis were analyzed by immunohistochemical and chemical methods. Anti-arabinogalactan–protein antibodies, JIM8 and JIM13, labeled the central fibrillar secondary wall layer of Megaceros elaters and the walls of Sphagnum leaf cells, but did not label the walls of Radula elaters. The CCRC-M7 antibody, which detects an arabinosylated (16)-linked -galactan epitope, exclusively labeled hyaline cells in Sphagnum leaves and the secondary walls of Radula elaters. Anti-pectin antibodies, LM5 and JIM5, labeled the primary wall in Megaceros elaters. LM5 also labeled the central layer of the secondary wall but only during formation. In Radula elaters, JIM5 and another anti-pectin antibody, JIM7, labeled the primary wall. The distribution of arabinogalactan–proteins and pectic polysaccharides restricted to specific wall types and stages of development provides evidence for the developmental and functional regulation of cell wall composition in bryophytes. Monosaccharide-linkage analysis of Sphagnum leaf cell walls suggests they contain polysaccharides similar to those of higher plants. Summary. Accumulation, tissue and intracellular localisation, and toxic effects of cadmium were investigated in the liverwort Lunularia cruciata. The results of analyses carried out by atomic absorption spectrometry on single plants showed that the cadmium accumulation was dose- and time-dependent. Cadmium localisation was assessed by X-ray scanning electron microscopy microanalysis in gemmalings and in the different tissues of the thallus and by X-ray transmission electron microscopy microanalysis at the cellular level. The metal preferentially accumulated in the hyaline parenchyma and at the base of the gemma cups. Inside the cell, cadmium accumulated in the vacuoles and the cell wall. Metal accumulation was accompanied by a concomitant increase in sulphur content within the vacuoles of stressed cells. Gel-permeation chromatography showed that most of the cadmium was associated with a low-molecular-mass fraction eluting at a ratio of elution volume to void volume corresponding to that of phytochelatins. The excess of sulphur deposited in the vacuoles may well have been caused by the stress-induced synthesis of phytochelatins. At the ultrastructural level, sublethal concentrations of cadmium caused alterations of the fine structure of the cells, inducing marked alterations of the chloroplast structure. Angiosperms possess a small family of phage-type RNA polymerase genes that arose by gene duplication from an ancestral gene encoding the mitochondrial RNA polymerase. We have isolated and sequenced the genes and cDNAs encoding two phage-type RNA polymerases, PpRpoT1 and PpRpoT2, from the moss Physcomitrella patens. PpRpoT1 comprises 19 exons and 18 introns, PpRpoT2 contains two additional introns. The N-terminal transit peptides of both polymerases are shown to confer dual-targeting of green fluorescent protein fusions to mitochondria and plastids. In vitro translation of the cDNAs revealed initiation of translation at two in-frame AUG start codons. Translation from the first methionine gives rise to a plastid-targeted polymerase, whereas initiation from the second methionine results in exclusively mitochondrial-targeted protein. Thus, dual-targeting of Physcomitrella RpoT is caused by and might be regulated by multiple translational starts. In phylogenetic analyses, the Physcomitrella RpoT polymerases form a sister group to all other phage-type polymerases of land plants. The two genes result from a gene duplication event that occurred independently from the one which led to the organellar polymerases with mitochondrial or plastid targeting properties in angiosperms. Yet, according to their conserved exon-intron structures they are representatives of the molecular evolutionary line leading to the RpoT genes of higher land plants.  相似文献

Weexamined the effects of fertilization on the diversity, abundance, and cover ofthe understory plant community of two montane wet forests in Hawaii. One siteoccupies a young substrate, where aboveground tree growth is limited bynitrogen(N), while the other site is on an older substrate, where aboveground treegrowth is limited by phosphorus (P). Both sites contained an on-going,long-termfactorial fertilization experiment in which plots were fertilized semi-annuallywith N, P, or N and P in combination. In each fertilization treatment, wemeasured density of species 0.5 m tall and percent cover ofspecies <0.5 m tall. Fertilization with N reducedspeciesrichness at the young, N-limited site, but none of the nutrient additionsaltered species richness at the older, P-limited site. Species diversity andevenness were not affected by fertilization at either site. At the site withlowN availability, plots fertilized with NP had higher densities of the non-nativeginger Hedychium gardnerianum, and at the site with lowP-availability, densities of the exotic shrub Rubusargutuswere higher in P- and NP-fertilized plots. Other effects included declines inmoss cover with fertilization at both sites, and reduced abundance of nativeseedlings in response to N and NP addition at the N-limited site. Continuedlong-term fertilization could lead to greater dominance of non-native speciesbyencouraging their growth at the expense of native species, which may sufferdecreased recruitment as fertilization and increased abundance of thenon-nativespecies may reduce suitable substrates for seedling establishment.  相似文献

Abstract. I studied cryptogam (i.e. bryophyte and lichen) communities on fallen logs in the Duke Forest, Durham and Orange Counties, North Carolina, USA, to determine the relationship of log characteristics and microsite to community composition. Species composition and abundance were estimated for 111 randomly selected fallen logs. Interior wood samples were used to identify the tree species. I determined physical and chemical characteristics for each log, and described the log microsite. Canonical Correspondence Analysis (CCA) detected a clear gradient in cryptogam species composition which is correlated with the species of log and the presence of bark. Communities on hardwood bark, hardwood wood, and pine substrates were the most distinct. CCA also revealed that the microsite is not as closely related to species composition as are substrate pH and density. The majority of the cryptogam species encountered on the fallen logs are commonly reported from other substrates in the forest. However, within the habitat type of fallen logs, several species were apparently restricted to certain substrate types.  相似文献

Ten sporophytic populations of Syntrichiacaninervis contained an average of 22 individualscm–2, with a sex ratio of 7.9 Female:1 Male: 3.1 Nonexpressing(N = 300). In each of the populations, female individuals outnumberedmale individuals. A representative population size of 50 × 25cm was estimated to contain 27,250 organically distinct individualplants. Given the wide disparity in reproductive investment in this dioeciousspecies, sex-specific traits were investigated at the level of the individualinbiomass, total stem length, number of ramets, number of branches, length ofannual growth interval, length of longest ramet, age, number of inflorescences,number of ramets expressing sex, and consecutive seasons of sex expression. Theonly significant sex dimorphism recorded was in consecutive seasons of sexexpression, with nonsporophytic female individuals exhibiting a higherfrequencythan males. However, nonexpressing individuals had lower biomass, shorter totalstem length, fewer branches, and shorter ramets than males and females, andfewer ramets than female individuals. When the biomass of female and maleindividuals was controlled for inflorescence number, no significant differencesbetween the sexes in biomass were found. There appears to be a threshold sizefor sex expression, with all individuals above 2.0 mg dry weightexpressing sex (N = 108). Biomass and total stem length are strongpositive correlates (r = 0.88), and individual biomass is a betterpredictor of the number of inflorescences produced per individual than is stemlength (r = 0.85 vs. r = 0.69, respectively). Independent of stemlength, individual biomass had a positive and significant relationship withinflorescence number; however, independent of individual biomass, stem lengthwas not associated with inflorescence number. Overall sex expression was 0.74(individual level) and 0.65 (ramet level). The functional sex ratio wasassessedat the inflorescence level, and ranged from 9.7:1, to14.9:1 over the most recent four years. Fertilization frequencywas 0.69 (individual level) and 0.34 (perichaetial level). Over the last threeyears, 63% of all fertilized perichaetia resulted in an abortivesporophyte.  相似文献

Question: Is Rhynchostegium megapolitanum an expanding species? Location: Viennese Basin (120‐220 m a.s.1.), Austria. Methods: 121 dry grasslands, were investigated for the occurrence of R. megapolitanum. Nineteen environmental variables at 50 randomly selected sites, species composition at sites with and without R. megapolitanum and the spatial patterns of distribution of the species at the landscape scale were analysed. We compared actual distribution data of three rare species (Didymodon acutus, Pleurochaete squarrosa R. megapolitanum) and a common one (Brachythecium rutabulum) with the distribution obtained by vouchers that were collected between 1860 and 1940 in the investigated area. We calculated a GIS based model pattern and compared it with the actual distribution. Results: R. megapolitanum was detected in 28 of these sites, almost 50 % of its populations produced sporophytes. We found significant differences between sites with and without R. megapolitanum with regard to grassland size, the percentage of silt and of sand in the soil. There were fewer occurrences of historic herbarium vouchers of R. megapolitanum than our current field survey discovered. The GIS based analyses of distribution patterns at the landscape scale showed a clustering of sites in which R. megapolitanum was present or absent. Simulations with a spatially realistic expansion model showed high similarities to the actual distribution of the species. Conclusions: All these analyses suggest that R. megapolitanum has been expanding in the investigated area. A significant increase in temperature and nitrogen deposition within the last hundred years might be the underlying cause for the species' spread.  相似文献
